Ummm... Good job getting it to clear but I think you skipped a step.

Not sure what your plans are for that slip fit...

looking good. Be sure to install some flex joints. The good ones without the inner mesh. It will blow the mesh out. Know from experience lol.

The top one will work. The bad ones have a inner mesh that looks like the outer mesh. I have used them with the inner mesh and just cut it out. Been working so far.

Slip fits are fine if you are planning on welding it. They don't work if you were trying to make that your "joint" for disassembly. I would have guessed you would weld it there but as you didn't weld a v-band to the mani I wasn't sure what your plans were.

BTW the top flex you showed I have used. i try to find the ones that have a pre-installed pipe.

Here is one like the bottom but shorter.

You can use either. Hell, I've built many systems with out them at all. Just depends on the system being designed & how much movement you expect.

TBH, I wouldn't recommend it but others may say they have. It's not a band-aid for misaligned piping. It is a part that removes stresses due to thermal expansion or torquing from an engine in the case of a turbo additionally supported to a point other than the engine.

YMMV

Well I ran into and issue , the truck manifolds facing toward won't clear my steering shaft in my 1st gen s10 , I should if checked before welding the pipes . I wonder if the camaro manifolds would give me more clearance.

Not sure about the Camaro manifolds. How much clearance do you need? You could take a little off the manifold & not hurt it.

Cut it in that arear and weld half a pipe in it to gain clearance. Or shave it some there and thin have the manifold milled down where they bolt to heads.
