Default Rod bearing clearance

Im trying to find out what is an acceptable rod bearing clearance between rods on each journal? and do people put a shim in between the rods before they torque them?

Default Rod Oil Flow

OK, Here are some examples, "sure" to use a "feeler" gauge between the two rod centers will do no harm, only an improvement.

I have assembled "piston guided rod" engines, one such is a Jeep 4.0 for racing.
That value is about .060", each side.

ANOTHER concern is Oil Flow, for that I "machine" the Rod Large End with oil groves used to direct oil into the piston/pin area.

This method concentrates more cooling oil in the area MOST needed.
