The weak point here is the rods. I have made 860whp on Gen 3 rods. 150+ traps. 22-23psi. Bent them on an accidental overboost pull.

Others have made more i believe.

sold the car to start another project. I know there is people out there that has made a ton more power on gen 3 rods and think my setup had a little more in it. But it was enough to push a heavy Fbody 131mph in the 1/4 and that's with me granny shifting the stock t56 that had 261,000 miles on it and the stock 10bolt that had the same mileage on it. Sooooo I was pushing more than just the gen 3 rods to thier limits.

The 2003 LQ4 has been in my car for 4 years now. Best 1/8th mile pass is 5.98 @ 119 off the footbrake. Never ran it in the 1/4 this year but I did last year and it went 9.54 @ 147.

I've had 4 different turbos on it, and two different cams in this thing and it keeps going. I am putting together a good rod/piston bottom end this winter though. I don't want to push my luck much more and want to go faster this year. I think my converter being loose up top is helping it stay together as well.

Iv went 8.86 @ 157 with my gen3 lq4, billet s483 on 21lbs and still hazing the tires, I'd say it's got a 8.60 in it on each it works good. It's all in the tune to make them live. I have about 25 passes on mine and thousands of street miles on it.

there is the car I was thinking of. 8.86 is running good on gen 3 rods. you must be keeping the timing soft at torque peak .

15 deg total timing on it and was tuned on 100 unleaded but run 110 to keep it even safer.

well heavy in the sense of it being a full weight car... but it had nothing on your caddy!!!

yes the tranny started whining before I got rid of the car but was still going strong at that power level. And the 10bolt lived because of lack of traction I assume.
But regardless the gen3 rotating assembly had 2500 miles on it or constant beating on it when I got rid of it 2 1/4 mile passes. So I wouldn't say I pushed it for a long time but it showed no signs of stopping. I just sold the car to start a different project.
