I'm building my own kit using a T70, it's not done yet but plan to run 15-20+lb's of boost. I'll post up numbers as soon as I get it all running/tuned and dyno'd.

Canadian High Performance up here in Vancouver has a 2002 ceta TA they just installed the base sts kit on. The car put down a baseline 315 rwhp / 320 rwtq or very close to stock and there just waiting for the tunning software to arrive before they get some after numbers. From what Ive heard the car hauls *** even pre tune and the owners very happy.

Be sure Garret knows this is an STS style kit as I beleive the turbo is assembled/manufactured differently then standard mount turbos.

hmmm what kind of difference could this be? I don't see anything wrong with using a standard turbo.

A/R ratio will be different to help get the turbo to spool all the way at the rear.

I remember speaking to somebody at Garrett in October when I was gonna have Rick make me a Twin set us STS system..and that Garrett Employee said these were not traditional off the shelf turbos..Im sure is something simple like A/R sizing or something. Back in NOV there was a post on their local forum about it too.

Check sig for a stock LS1 with 5psi.
no track times. I have raced a couple of people with some mods. They were very impressed. I'm very happy with the system.
Slyws6, I am curious to see your results. What internals are you doing to run 15psi?

dynoed 560 with 10 lbs and ran a 12.3 at 125.7 with a 2.38 60 ft. It bogs if you just floor it but if you rev it up and slip the clutch it just spins.

I dont about the sts turbo, I am an engineer and I have owned many turbo buicks, and from thermodynamics 101,the turbine will not be as efficiant as one mounted near the header, it needs heat , to spool, the the gas expands more under higher temps, and at a lower temps, the air is more condensed, I wonder what are the temps are on the exaust side of the tubo before it enters the turbine, does anybody know? I like the qmp turbo set up, but to expensive.

Yeah many have said that same thing but bang for the buck and ease of install makes the sts kit hard to beat.

i have a 6- speed. 347 with 9.2:1 comp. pace longtube headers, ls6 intake, z06 cam. I was real suprised at how good it spools. It gets full boost at around 3500-3800. If you have any questions pm me or email me, i dont mind

In my opinion i have seen two turbo cars run one is (amacgt) and the other is a freind. Amacgts car spooled very fast with his m6 and could easly ran a low 11 but couldnt get it out of the hole just right. My friend has a turbo system that comes off the manifold and spools fast but i dont know if it makes the same kind of numbers as amacgt but i know its not as fast. I would rather have a sts kit any day over manifold kit.
Why?
1. they make the same hp for the money
2. manifold turbo setups are 7grand for a good one
3. i like the way the sts setup sounds in between gears compared to manifolds because the blow off valve is behind you and if anyone has heard one they sound way different then any manifold turbo i have heard.

How much will longtubes hurt performance ??

another big benifit of the sts kit is the weight . . . . . its mostly over the back instead of the nose.
