Default Suggestions for gear for sinister?

So I'm pretty decided on 3.73/3.90, actually leaning twoards the latter.
My overall tire size will be 29/30 inches tall..
The 2.93 sucks from a dead stop, and could actually keep the car in second gear forever lol!
Not looking for calculating best 1/4 mile times, just most fun.
All I really care about is sick, long burnouts=)

If you are wanting to go a certain speed in the 1/4 mile, then gear it for that.

I would pick whichever gear puts you between 2000-2200 at 75mph.

3.90 gears will put you at 2385 RPM with a 28.85" tire.

I'de do 3.73s for 2281 RPM ceteris paribus.

If you don't do a lot of road trips, probably doesn't matter. Hell, the difference is only about 100rpm, so go with the 3.90s...

Haha! And was just talking myself into it being only around 100rpms diff also, just toward the more reasonable gear....
That's it you talked me into it 3.90s!
Seriously, if I take roadies in it , I'll be cruising anyways, not in a hurry

while your burnout side of the brain thinks..... 3.90! a taller gear like a 3.42 would actually be quicker in the 1/4 and if you need more burnout potential spray a 50hp shot to get it spooled quicker. Staying in each gear longer will actually smoke more...

Buy a MS3Pro Ultimate/Holley HP or similar for boost by gear, 2 step, traction control,meth/nitrous controller, data logging, Flex Fuel, etc to make the most of it. You will be glad you did. Having the EFI system to add up to 100% additional fueling, low oil pressure shutdown, data logging, boost controller is a nice thing and something the stock computer paired with HP Tuners can never even come close to touching

My 3.31's are pretty good in my heavy car but I'm on 27" tires. Honestly I wouldn't go any higher than a 3.50 ish gear. I'm curious why you went with a 2800 stall? I would think the car really feels like a slug out of boost if that's a turbo converter. The gear will help but I feel like a looser converter would help optimize your combo also.

I know what you mean about staying in a gear longer(second gear is glorious!)
I think I would like to do a different management system to compare one to another, it just seemed like by the time I added trans control to them, the factory harness/com was the rout to go at the time

I Had followed through your build, great car, I was thinking of going back to column shift with the same linkage you used but then I would need I find new home for tach, kinda like where it lives though.......

Anyways...the converter, Yes the converter...let's go back to the beginning on that, gather round everyone....
The whole converter thing was and still is a learning thing for me.
So, the original revmax converter I had suffered a horrible death, it was the only used peice I bought and was a mistake, one person's idea of "stock like driveabillty" and another's somtimes is different.....
I was under the impression it would "drive like normal " until I hammered it, well it took about 28/3000 to get this heavy bi#ch moving with traffic, and was not street orianted for this car.

Now on to the circle d,
This is speced to the car, I said I wasn't looking for a drag race/high stall speed, and this is what they recommended, it is an absolute night and day difference from the revmax, around town with traffic driving now occurs about 12/1500 wich is pretty reasonable(i think) flooring it from a dead stop is pretty uneventful until about 50/60ft out and a little boost, all hell breaks loose=) all other driving under boost is actually great, once I get the rear situated and built I will pass final judgment on the stall speed as they will retstall for free, I must say I'm really happy with it at this point, and with a lower gear I imagine it will only be better.
