temps go up to 230* during a pass and are back under 100* by the time I get on the return rd. I can't see an intake manifolds temp jumping nearly 200*, heat soaking the sensor quick enough to give high readings, all while having cool air rushing over the sensor if we are to assume it's actually cooling the air. Does that make sense?

He might now, but he didn't a couple of years ago when he took the SBE record. He even mentioned non-intercooled in the setup details.
