Building a twin setup from MILD steel?
the truck manifolds are a great alternative to all that fabrication and the system shown above shows a really nice setup that should last quite a while.
I'd recommend supporting the turbo with a bracket and certainly the V bands are convenient and allow flexibility with the clocking of the turbo.
I have a TTix setup which has cast iron custom manifolds that are great but limit me to the smaller t3/t4 hybrid turbos. still enough flow for 1000 at the tire which will likely be enough for a while.
I ran at 800 at the tire and that has proven challenging to hook but this year I bought some 15" hoosiers with more sidewall and some skinny front runners so we'll see how that helps the 60 ft and top end.
Love the truck manifold setups as they are great for custom setups and very affordable. Any tips for but welding pipe? That looks pretty challenging for "noob" welders.
I don't have much expertise there, but fortunately I work with folks that do!!
amazes me that 25% of the people here needed to see stainless steel to understand what I was referring to. But yeah mild steel which costs a fraction of stainless 👍🏼👍🏼
