Default Spal Fan with ATI High Temps

I already have the 16" Spal fan 30102036 that is rated at 2360 CFM. Spal recently released a more powerfull 16" version 30100845 that is rated at 3100 CFM, but it also pulls 30 amps compared to the 20 amps my current fan pulls. I live in Florida and I have recently noticed that my temps are getting high while in traffic with the AC on. I thought that I had my temp issue fixed with the current fan. Do you think the extra CFM would make much of a difference? Can my car handle the extra amp draw from the new fan? Should I just upgrade the radiator instead? Will the BeCool fit with a Procharger? Thanks

How high of temps are you seeing? What temp is your fan set to come on at? I still have the fan that came with the kit and its working fine in this Texas heat so far........ i dont have A/C either so its not blocking my Radiator........ Are you going off the stock temp gauge in the car? If so they are not very accurate.

The temp will get to 220* but I will start moving or turn the AC off before it goes any higher. I would hate to get stuck in a traffic jam.

I don't know exactly when the fan turns on with the AC off, but with the AC on it always runs.

Going off of a scanmaster and an Autometer guage.

I also have a problem with the AC blowing cold air espically when moving, its better while parked.

the bigger fan will certainly help and the draw should be fine.

at one point I was running 4 fans with no issues with my powerdyne setup.

Just noticed your post, I had the same problem with mine, (we seem to have a lot of the same mods) my temp gauge and oil gauge were both getting into the 220-230 area, so as per a friends suggestion, (he does a lot of drag racing and knows a lot of tricks) I drained the radiator, installed a mixture of 25% coolant, 1 Purple Ice additive and Pure destilled water.
Went out this weekend with the A/C on runned hard and never got past 190 degrees!
Hope this helps.

I would get that one or a CAS, the CAS looks a little bigger compared to the pics, I have one picture of it in my webshots....

CAS will probably take 6 months to get to you though

I think it is important to note, that the humidity level on the east coast makes the situation much worse than those fellow fbody owners out west. Humidity adds anywhere from 15-20 degrees to the actual rated outside temp.

Just a little tid bit.

Yeah... it's making me question my decision to do the Iron Block.

It is a nice radiator and all the stock equipment hooks up like the factory stuff and fits in the factory location just so everyone knows that might be wondering.
