Martin - do you see any advantage to CO2 feeding the dome as opposed to a 4 port solenoid that controls the ratio of dome to bottom side pressure? I have always had decent luck with the 4 ports but never tried a very light gate spring and shot for really high boost pressures. I have ran a 10psi spring and made 22psi with that method. It seems that CO2 is unneeded and I still dont understand why it is advantageous over the other method I just mentioned. Thanks
If your gate valve to dome ratio isn’t garbage and you can keep the gate 100% closed with manifold pressure, a CO2 rig won’t allow you to make any more boost. They do allow you to use a tiny WG spring (say 1 psi) and have more resolution/control. Esp. when we are talking about WG’s with huge valves (like 66m) and tiny pressure domes compared to valve they are controlling.
Defiantly not needed on the average street/strip build IMO. Even the 4 ports aren’t needed as they are quite a bit more expensive. With a 3 port MAC valve I can run 8-30+lbs with 2 38mm WG’s on a 370. Or 1 44mm gate on a 5.3.
Once you get into competition and class racing I can see wanting a C02 setup.

I'm surprised so many people go to milling heads on a turbo setup. I want as much deck thickness as I can get on my car, and I have AFR 225s w/ 0.750 deck. I couldnt imagine cutting some off the already thin .500 deck heads. But I guess if you aren't pushing the envelope, it wouldnt really matter.

I also think having a time based boost controller is a must for anyone wanting the max out of their car at the track.
Yes you can achieve the same amount of total boost several different ways, but with a controller like the Boost Leash you have much more control over how you get there and when it gets there.
