Default Boosted C6Z06 at Texas Mile

We had an awesome time at The Texas Mile in Victoria. Would like to congratulate Bobby Weige on his new best of 214.3. Even though we went a new best we never did get a 100% clean run all weekend but still managed 200+mph every run. I would to thank everyone who helped this weekend, it takes a team of people to help from Thursday-Sunday. We have ran this 400" Dart LSX from Arrow Machine in Brenham at 200+mph every pass at the last 3 Texas Mile events and just changed the oil and plugs. It makes tuning so much easier when you have such a solid engine to work with. We have to upgrade the cage to go over 215 so once that's done we will shoot for 220mph.

They always have, but they're way less strict than even a IHRA track.

I agree. Who the hell even puts the word "recommended" in a rule book. People will always do the minimum.

It'll be just like no prep racing.. all its going to take is one tragedy to put an end to it. Lawyers, and track insurance rates will go through the roof.. promptly putting a stop to it.

Equally some rules are just ******* stupid. And some cages I've seen pictures of in the US with lots of bent bars that should be straight for strength....almost makes a mockery of saying there should be a cage fitted.
And then some people add clevis joints at both ends too !! Totally removing any structural integrity the cage would have had.

We are right at 1100 rwhp. Its 400cu with very small cam but we are out of blower. It can make alot more with a different cam and bigger blower. We are over spinning the blower currently. If we can get the blower calmed down we think we can run closer to 218. Even the 214 mph wasnt a clean pass. Since we put this motor in (3 trips to the mile) every pass has been 200+ and we get faster every trip to the mile so we are happy with it so far. The goal was to run 200+ reliably and I think we achieved that and as a bonus it just keeps getting faster.

They always have had safety requirements, just not as strict as drag racing requirements. You can run 214.99 with a 6 point cage.

I wish everyone was as up in arms about smoking cigarettes, as track safety. There would be much less lung cancer and various other diseases and cheaper health insurance, yes this isn't really the right forum for this comment....but just needed to get it off my chest. Anyways, wicked ride op.

i hear you guys on safety but at the same time the NHRA rules are absurd and consequently not a lot of people race at the track in my area anymore. Having to put parachute, cage, etc at the NHRA levels required is ridiculous. Those rules were written in an era before modern cars were around.

would you rather be in a 100mph crash in a 2017 lambo with no cage or extra safety stuff other than all the stock air bags etc, or in a 1966 VW with a cage? I'll take the lambo
