The most expensive single component you'll need to buy will probably be the 58x to 24x convertor box. Or will you pull the crank and put a 24x wheel on it?

edit - sorry missed the last video where it was already running

I've never known a stockish th350 to live much past 500ish crank. I wouldn bother with that sucker. Isn't the th400 only 1.5" longer?

Whack the shaft down sloppy style and use a couple pieces of angle iron as V blocks band clamped in place to spot weld straight then finish welding it up. Good to go!

Th350 can take some abuse with some cheap upgrades, but a 400 will go much further. If you're not married to the 350, go 400

Good score on the TH400. Are you the guy who got a Cummins Intercooler to try on this thing? Good luck. Following closely.

How come you cut the intercooler down? Would it not fit otherwise? What's the thickness of the core? Maybe get another and double up he thickness if you have some spare cash.

hate to admit it but the intercooler in my nova is a stock intercooler from a international 3800 school bus. I cut the inlet/outlet off and moved them to the ends and spool gunned them on 4 years ago. it is a 25 by 13 by 3" core . it works great. and I only see about a 1/2 lb pressure drop from turbo outlet to throtlebody. .

I ran a 350th with a $25 shift kit for the first year in the car ran 10.50s at 10# boost with it. it never failed but at that time I was running all stock 10 bolt axle and driveshaft and 350th so I never turned it up. good luck.

Even with it cut down the core is 19" X 28" x3" the pictures are deceiving of its size.

AWESOME! Your going to have to get a plan together for tires, or THEY will be the single most expensive part on the car. LOL

he said in the video he was up to 1700 or so, so he may be borrowing tires to make a run on the track... he still has to work on the rear, so i imagine that is where his remaining budget is going.

I have a set of 10 year old 28x9 et drags that have a few hits left on them that I got for free, this is the time of year everyone puts on a fresh set around here so I'm hoping something comes up for extremely cheap. Worst case I've had people offer to lend me slicks but I'm trying to stay out of the freebies with this build to keep it more realistic.
