Best bet for ~650-700whp 5.3?
Hello All,
Been a while since I have been on the site. Finally able to start working on my car once again. Current motor is a LM7 5.3 that has rod knock that I will be pulling and building for boost. It will have a boost cam custom grind with Frankenstein ported 243s. I already have an ls6 intake for said build.
The T56 will be rebuilt and and I will put some sort of rear end in the car from TDP as well.
Question is... What is the easiest route to take? Procharger? Turbo? Supercharger?
Am I putting myself at a disadvantage keeping the 5.3? Everything is sort of overwhelming TBH and I have spent quite a bit of time reading and you all seem to be very knowledgeable.
I originally thought that it would be fun to do a turbo kit via on3 or Huron Speed kit, but the amount of options and pieces required seem a bit daunting and the feedback regarding on3 is hit or miss. I want more hit than miss for this build. I would be up for the task, but would almost prefer something more forgiving.
Does the Procharger systems for the LS motors work well with the 5.3 when installed in an Fbody? Would it be best to go with a p1 or d1? I have read most of the stickies but any additional information that it appears I am lacking is greatly welcome. This will be a build I work on all year likely and will be doing mostly all the work myself, outside of the tune and head porting.
Thanks!

I have a 2003 lm7 with 280kin my 98 z28 the motor is stock other than a ls1 cam, some comp valve springs, ls9 gaskets and arp head studs. The car was a m6 car but i ditched the t56 due to the pricey rebuild costs. My t56 started to whine after a few months of having the turbo on the car. I have the on3 kit and couldn't be happier with it. The only thing i dont like about it is the alternator relocation bracket that came with it. I was running 12lbs of boost last year on e85 and the car had to be around 600-650 whp it was very stout.
