Dual Fuel Pump requirements (what size?)

Dual Fuel Pump requirements (what size?)
Trying to figure what size pump to use for the second pump. Building a tank for a 69 Camaro and adding a second pump to the Tanks Inc factory tank. Engine is a 6.0, S480, 85 lb injectors, Tick Stage 1 cam at around 1000 hp. First pump is an in tank 450, trying to decide if I should add a second 450 or will a 250 be enough. Will be turning the second pump on by the meth kit. Thanks for any advice!

Try to use 2 pumps of the same size. Its not a requirement, but there are less issues and usually more stable fuel flow since their flow/PSI rates will be equal.

If your merging the 2 pumps and then splitting back into 2 lines to feed each rail....I see no difference if the pumps are different sizes. I run a walbro 450 and a 255lph without issue. I am trying to acheive the same power goal on E85 but I am sure it will fall short. Also depends on what fuel pressure you intend on running as well as what fuel. With the 85 lb injectors (is this rated at 3 bar or 4 bar?) you will likely need to run a high pressure for 1000hp. Even higher when ethanol content increases. Answer all those questions and we can give you an answer.
1. What fuel are you running?
2. Fuel injector 85 lb flow rating is at what pressure?
3. Based on #1 and #2, you can determine the required fuel pressure to get the required fuel flow for 1000hp
4. Based on #3, you can determine what flow the pump will provide at that fuel pressure to support that.
