Default pro charger vs turbo for my application?

Obviously the procharger is more expensive but probably easier to install for me in the garage. The car is a 02 ws6 with a built 4l60 with a yank 3600 single disc convertor and a 9" rear with 4.10's. It has a lq4 with ls3 ported heads and a cam in the mid 230's. Kooks long tubes and 3" true duals. It's a stock bottom end motor. It'll be on 93 and meth for a while until we get more e85 stations. The goal is low 10's high 9's.

Which would be better for my setup? It's not a daily driver just a weekend toy. Also should I get it setup for speed density or keep the maf?

You can get into the low 9's with a ProCharger D-1SC with a good torque converter and a good working suspension in these cars. Take a look at my complete package price at this link. http://shop.brutespeed.com/ATI-1TE10...-Speed-Kit.htm Thanks. Bob

Your build inclines me to recommend the Procharger. Your rear end gears and long tube headers would be a waste with a turbo setup, although I understand how easy gear swaps are with a 9". The 4l60 is always a weak link, and the torque potential of a turbo setup would only make breakage more likely. Also, you would likely find the torque converter too loose if you turbo it. My only concern is that centrifugals like high rpm power, and your stock rod bolts may not be happy with such a setup.

Either set up will do a great job of roasting the 4l60 in short order

Thats what I was thinking on the 4l60. The car would eventually get an 80 but I was hoping to make the 60 last a little while. For some reason I always think turbos need a transbrake and 2 step and all that but I guess this not necessarily true.

Are the internals of the lq4 as good as the internals of an ls3?

Having had a bunch of Prochargers and now a turbo, I kind of miss my Prochargers, although the turbo makes power, I liked the "whistle" from
the Procharger, lol, and low end power for the street. The turbo plumbing does make it cluttered under the hood, but def is a cheaper route, esp if you are doing the install. My 70 C10 is getting a D1SC, truck version, with the 8 rib setup.

Either way you choose, you'll need to go lower gears in the rear.

Something like 4.57 or 4.71?

Sorry, smaller number, like 3.4 or 3.2, or whatever size works for that rear setup.

Is that because of the short first gear in the 60? My brother has an 80e in an ecs 5th gen with 3.91's and I don't think its enough. I'll probably be swapping to an 80e in the future.

Well, if you're looking for max performance in the quarter, you want to cross the finish line at or near max rpm, and with the extra power you're going to make, your mph is going to be significantly higher, so you might run out of gear.

Also traction may become an issue.
