Default Fuel pump and injectors question

I have a 2000 trans am with a 5.3, procharger P1 with 10#, and currently running 42# injectors with a 255 pump running 91 octane and meth. Have never been on dyno

Now, I want to hit it with a 100 wet shot of nitrous through a plate. I have a dedicated fuel cell for the nitrous. Will I need to upgrade pump and injectors?

I can't believe you're running a Procharger with that pump and injectors to begin with. Adding nitrous is a bad idea lol.

It worked well when I ran 6#. Now that I'm adding boost and nitrous, I was making sure if they would work or not. I'm tryukg to avoid doing a return set up

I think the 255lph and 42# should be good to at least 500whp and if your running a stand alone nitrous setup you will be using another pump and spraying the extra fuel through the plate so the capacity of the 255lph intank or 42# won't be affected

On petrol that fuel pump should be enough for what you're doing. The injectors are small. The meth on will help keep the IDC down but for peace of mind I would go bigger, at least to an 60 lb/hr. The wet shot with a stand alone will not have an effect on your fuel system.

You're pushing your current fuel system to what I would say is it's limit based on the data you've given us so far. With more information (IDC, injector part numbers, what 255l pump you're running, etc) I could be more specific about what I would recommend.

I do have a stand alone with 100 octane for nitrous. I think I will just swap to some 80lb injectors I have laying around and throw a 465 pump in the tank

I have a racetronix hot wire with their 255 pump and racetronix 42# injectors. Car was never on rollers, and air and fuel was right at 11.7 when boost was at 6#.

Do you know the injector duty cycle at 6#?

Some 42# inj are rate at 43.5 psi so make sure what inj you have. 42# 43.5are 50# at 58.
Second, the 255 with hotwire will work fine with stock lines and rail up to 550ish boosted or 600na. BUT that also depends on your target afr. Honestly id say you start to cut back quite a bit of power support the richer you go. We have a stock 340 that will work fine and just use upgraded pump harness. You dont need 80lb inj either. A 50 to 55lb inj will work just fine or a 60 if you want some room.

Using a stand alone fuel cell means you dont need extra fuel or a larger pump. You tune the car off the nitrous first. Then tune car on but you dont change the afr in the tune based off what you target, you only change it on the jets. You will want to remove some spark of course for the nutrous, but that is it. Also removing timing does richen up the mixture as well. They are independent systems and should be treated as such. If it were a dry system youd have to worry. otherwise you wont.
