Couple more questions. Looks like I started leaning out at the end of the run. Fuel pressure dropping. I noticed belt dust on the alternator a while back. Just went out and looked and the belt is pretty tore up. Looks like the balancer isn't fully seated by the way the belt is sitting. How hard is it to not get the balancer correctly installed after a cam install? I know I torqued it good without a torque wrench.

Obviously that needs addressed, but is that the problem with slipping belt, and less voltage? Or am I out of pump? Was planning another 450 on a hobbs, anyways. I attached the log, but for some reason only half the channels were logged.

I drove 80 miles back home after the run with no issues, so I don't think I hurt anything.

If that gets sorted out....6300ish through the traps @ 117 with these short tires. Lock the converter in third to be able to go faster? I talked to the guy who built the trans, and he said if it isn't chattering when it locks, should be fine.

Truck runs really well IMO. Fix the belt slipping issue before you do anything else (with the fuel system) as you definitely know it’s a problem. The crank bolt needs to be tighter than a bull’s *** in fly season. Even with a torque wrench you’re gonna think you’re about to snap the snout of the crank off. The torque spec is pretty ignorant. If the truck’s as heavy as you think (5200ish), you’re setup would be close to high nines in a 3300 lb vehicle. That’s pretty cool.

After thinking about it, the belt is riding the front of the balancer. So if anything, the balancer would be too far on. Doubt that. Something else is out of wack or I never installed the belt right to begin with, which is very probable.

Balancer only goes on so far. Can’t be on too far. Look at your other accessories and mounts.

I think I know whats wrong. If it wasn't raining I would go check. I put a 140a alternator on not too long ago for the efans, walbro, and trans fan. I bet it has the wrong number of grooves on it.....

I have to be closing in on what the walbro 450 can support on e70? I have most of the stuff to get another installed.

Id say so based on how the truck runs. It’s making good power for sure. Can you datalog injector duty cycle/fuel pressure? That could tell you a lot.

Yeah that wasn't very clear. I am thinking the pulley that came on the new alternator may be incorrect.

Alternator pulley is correct. I thought I remembered seeing something about 5 or 6 groove pulley options when I was looking for one. Everything looks to be lined up fine but there is belt dust everywhere. It looks like the 145a alternator uses a 3/4" longer belt. Didn't know that. I know I have replaced the tensioner recently, but I will get the correct belt, new tensioner, and idler. See what happens. Maybe try to get another 450 installed on a hobbs this weekend also.

Fuel pressure and idc are normally logged. On that last log, fuel pressure logged, but not idc and a bunch of other stuff for some reason. Not worried about the injectors. I think they were at 40% at 11 psi. Fuel pressure is all over the place which I guess is normal without buffering, but i have never seen it that low. Maybe i will put my 30$ go pro knock off on the gauge.

Assuming I have no more issues with the belt, I have enough pump, and the tune is good, how far will this cast wheel 7875 take me? 3 inch downpipe, into 3.5 with a cutout shortly after.

I went .4 seconds and 5 mph faster from 11psi (hot humid) to 13 psi (cooler, way less humid). Can I get a 10.99 out of this thing????????????? With the bed boxes on of course!!!

You sure that truck weighs 5300? I'd say it's closer to 4900-5000

if it truly weighs 5300 then you're out of pump

dont lock the converter just get a taller tire

I am going to try to get it weighed at a garbage transfer station today. I was going to call and ask if I could, but I figured I would just ask there, and I will already be on the scale, so they can't say no!

I actually originally had 30.5 tall cheater slicks. Got nervous about the bias ply rear and radial front so I returned them and bought the tallest drag radial I could find which is only 28.4". I wonder how 3.50ish gears would do? I was told no a while back because out of boost it would be a dog.

I do have another 450 and a hobbs switch.

Subeone is the guy who tuned the truck and did an amazing job without even seeing the truck. All through me sending him logs and him sending me revised tunes. Anyone needing a tune, contact Cesar!

Cleaned up all the belt dust and installed the new belt and tensioner. The tensioner is right in the middle of marks. Don't recall where it was with the old belt. No new belt dust yet, so hopefully that is solved.

5600 lbs with me, a little under half fuel, an aluminum floor jack, and 2 old cheater slicks I forgot about. I have 8 or 9 more gallons in when racing, so pretty close to race weight, probably a little less. Horsepower calculators put it at about 600 wheel with my speed and et!

I have a fuelab external pump I could use with one of those a drill a hole sumps the diesel guys use. Mount the pump on the frame rail, and the spin on filter housing has 2 inlets. Can't see why it wouldn't work?

The fuelab pump is dead. Hooked it to battery voltage and nothing. And I can't believe how much I paid for that thing. I am going to send it in for rebuild. Too nice for this truck anyways.

KB boost a pump. The racetronix harness I have already has the interface. I talked to kenne bell. He won't endorse it, but he knows many people are using it successfully with the 450. Brian from walbro or t1 or whatever returned my call and said it will work but shorten pump life. I said hobbs switch and he didn't endorse it either, but said it should work fine.

Any opinions on using one? Also, with the racetronix harness, it looks like 10g power to the relay, but only 12g out to the pump for a short distance. Less than 3 feet.

Instead of screwing around inside the tank again, I ordered a sump, aem pump, filter, etc.

Still using this thing for work and its still running great!!!

Can I get a 10.99 out of this thing with the cast vs 7875? I lost a few pounds with the hitch and spare. My 60 was 1.8 which I know I can improve on with some cal tracs. What is the billet vs7875 worth over the cast at 14-17 psi?
