I doubt ill be able to pull off 800whp right off the bat. But will work up to it increasing boost little by little. If nothing catastrophically happens ill be able to save enough to buy rods and pistons. My ultimate goal right now is a 9.xx sec 1/4 or 5.xx 1/8
Im told 750whp with the right weight and suspension can get you there. And part of racing (in my mind) build it, run it, break it and do it again better stronger faster.

Build seems to be identical to mine as well.
4.8
ls6 intake
billet s480 1.32 ar
80# injectors
walbro 450 pump
th400
3400 converter rated to 800hp
so far cars on old on3 78mm turbo and 4l60e tune so i need a retune and the car is currently **** off the line and takes forever to build boost. Should be retuned and dynoed in a couple of weeks.

A video of my car at idle and dig tests as I promised. My cars been laggy but found out why and it's fixed now. All better and more responsive... I can build boost now.

Video was after I found the blown pipe and replaced it and went for some test runs. Mind you the cars still isn't retuned yet and still waiting on the word from my tuner to get retuned. Before the car would not make boost like that... Guessing it was the blown pipe.

rear end gear still messes me up, im so use to truck gearing. My brain cant translate what i know about 4x4 gearing to drag car gearing. Not to mention only running two gears also messes me up

You’ll want to rev that 4.8 around 7k ish. More if you run an aftermarket manifold. Use an online gear calculator to see what you’re trap speed will be at 7000. Use a HP VS trap speed calculator to see what your weight car should trap around your desired HP number.
3250 race weight at 800hp should trap around 145. Add 10mph or so to account for converter slippage and room to grow. So I’d look for a gear that nets you around 155-160 at 7000-7200.
With a 28” tire a 3.70 nets you 158 @ 7k 162 @ 7200. (that’s not accounting for slip of any sort.) That’s where I’d start personally with a 4.8 and your goals in a ¼ mile car.
You can find used 9” nascar gears pretty cheap on Ebay. Many times they will be REM polished and/or lightened. I’ve used them several times and have yet to damage one. Even the lightened gears worked really well.

You really don’t want a 3.25 gear in it for 1/8th. If you don’t plan on street driving it then you’d want a 4.40-4.60 range gear. It’s going to be a traction battle in the 1/8th.
Here’s the 1/8th calc.
