Has anyone tried the FItech 70050/70051

I've setup fake base tunes using HPT, TunerStudio (used for Megasquirt) and whatever the Holley software is and in my opinion TunerStudio was the easiest out of all of them. Everything is exactly where you think it should be in the menus and it just feels very user friendly compared to Holley. That thing was like pulling teeth to get anything done IMO. I think it was actually in ways, harder to use than HPT.

Friend had the MS3 Goldbox and had nothing but trouble. Car was on dyno and injector driver decided to fail and hold the inj. open and engine hydrolocked. Sent back 3 times for latest injector drivers to be installed and after a year and a half of screwing around sold it. Being new to injection did not help either. Also had Tuner Studio. Car at Haltec getting new street version 950 installed not yet available to the public but being tested now they needed a donor car.

Having had 2 Holley HP's, I feel comfortable using it-but, they are kind of pricing me out of the market.
My first HP was $1200 plug and play, the second was $1500, now unless I got a killer deal prob upwards of $1700.
The trouble with Micro whatever is there are so many diff things, and I fear relearning another system, lol-the Holley was cut and dried, order this part # and plug it in. Plus the Yellow Bullet has a great section for help for the Holley system.
Pretty much you end up having more in the controls than the engine, turbo, lol

Plus, i had a super deal on an Gold box with a set of 80 pounds injectors a guy was shrugging off. He was letting everything go for 800$ (And thats Canadian money LOL!!) and i passed...... i heard some good AND some bad about these and yes, the support and learning of something a bit less mainstream is scaring me a bit. Holley seems to be LOVED by every user, never do i ehar anything wrong about Holley's kits or service/support/help, so its a factor..... but yes, the pricing has to come down as they are A LOT higher than everything else that seriously compares..... other than user capabilities LOL!!

I struggled with the first Holley HP, but I am not much of a computer person, lol-I finally had a guy remote in, I sat in the garage running the engine while he corrected things. When I built another car, I used the ex tune on it, so pretty much everything was already set, just picked the same wire colors as before, made it easier. I learned a lot so it made it easier the second time around, since I do all my own work and tuning. Whether I could master or disaster a diff system, I don't know. I hear there are HP's out there for sale by guys switching to Doms., but I haven't seen it yet.
There would be no question running an HP again, just I will be running another 80E trans, but I guess there are some cheaper trans controllers.

It CAN!!! Thats no problem.... its the same system as the Throttle bodies, so see it as a 1200 power adder if you will, that you can put your own injectors (perfect for our app!!) and intake! I have seen a few guys in the low9's and even one (Silverbulletman) ran a 9.03 with a 6.0L and a cam and with a Turbo....
Im doing about the same in a lighter car so it should be a bit of fun!! (Doin' a '70 Nova with glass parts and emptied as much i can thatll still look like a street machine)

I ordered my FI tech 70500 kit last week from summit. Seeing a 30 day wait roughly. Supposidly Fitech was waiting on the harnesses which is whats holding things up.
After driving my car alot these past weeks I'm excited and decided to dive right into FItech. My cold and hot starts had something to be desired and some light surging when coming to a stop at idle. Otherwise the stock stuff is fine. Its just over complicated and has so many modifiers that you change 1 thing and it affects 4 others. I also plan to run a 92mm TB and that throws the stock PCM wayyyy off unless you know what your doing. Since I'm basically running my stock PCM and harness as standalone with no trans control it seems natural to just get a self tuning setup.
$800 for standalone with boost capabilities. Holley HP is $1800+ right now and you need add ons for boost etc. And does anyone reconize the shape of the FItech PCM? looks alot like my FAST EZ EFI 2.0 that I had.

The main reason I'm going this route is I do not want to have to depend on a tuner each time I make a change. Those $ Credits add up. That and your at there discretion. Booked up and make an appointment, that's really the last thing you want to hear when you just need a 5 minute fix on the keyboard, especially when your at the track. Checked tracking and it shows in transit.

I've also heard of too many failures with the MS stuff. People having tuning nightmares but it's due to malfunctioning hardware. I never had any issues with my fast Ez 2.0 and that's just a basic self tuning system with timing control and it was the 1200hp system that I ran on a 521 BBF. For me more basic systems are more Bullet proof. It's when you start adding traction control, 2 steps, meth activation etc that it gets too complicated and just more to go wrong. give me something that gets me commanded fuel, fuel maps for boosted ranges and timing and I'm good.

Your cars going to be scooting! As for my setup... 5.3 going into my 01 mustang. Still in the beginning stages of my swap, will be going turbo for sure though in the near future.

yes specifically pictures of the harness! I got conflicting answers from Fitech and summit about what is included. Fitech said in 2 different instances that the injector harness has EV1 connections, but said it comes with 2 harnesses EV1 and Ev6 and you can swap in whichever one you have. But then they said and summit that it uses EV1 and you have to get adapters. I can see the EV1 connections in the harness pics but I wanted to verify it does or does not come with the EV6 harness.
