Turbo 5.3 head gasket HELP!
I am in the middle of building a Turbo 5.3 and need help on which head gasket to run. The 5.3 is carbed (with MSD 6LS) and has a stock bottom end, cam, new valve springs. It has 862 heads and stock bore. I need a head gasket that can handle boost. I am installing ARP head studs when i change head gaskets. I plan to run between 8 and 15 pounds of boost from a single 76mm turbo. I also am staying on pump gas. (I am new to this forum so i apologize if this question has been answered, i did not see it) What head gasket would work best for me?

Gas Filled O-Ring Seals
Hi, I like the smaller bore of the 5.3 when fit with a LS-9/Felpro 1041 HG.
The LS-9 = 4.100" bore with a .051" compressed thickness.
The Felpro 1041 = 4.135" bore with a .041" compressed thickness.
Now you have the choice to fit a Gas Filled S/S O-Ring of .062" with receiver grove inside the HG bore.
This method is in common use among Turbo Race Engines.

Sleves "Proud"
Hi Andrew, thanks for the request !
There have been MANY engines wherein I have made the sleeves "proud".
The SAME method is to fit an O-Ring.
THUS a double "wall" or a "fire band" !

Holley ECU? What did the logs show, air fuel, duty cycle etc
A buddy maxed out his fuel system last month and went 14:1 for a handful of passes, kinda suprised it's still alive.

We run engines richer because we are attempting to keep the lean cylinders alive.
