Default Windshield Washer Fluid For Meth

What windshield washer fluid to run in Snow Stage one on a stock 5.3 and 84mm On3 turbo? Where do you get it also?

I've run -20 in my truck for YEARS. Rumor has it, it's about 30% meth. Getting it depends on where you live and the time of year. If you're in the south, your going to have to look pretty hard to find anything that's not 32+ rated. When I lived in Texas, I couldn't find it very easy so every time I when up to Wyoming to visit friends, I'd swing in Walmart and pick up a couple cases.

i buy it at the dollar store. as long as it says -20 it should be good to go. it'll also have warnings about it containing methanol, skull and crossbones pictogram etc..

just stay away from anything that says propylene glycol or ethylene glycol

most fuel distributors..

Does anyone have a data base put together of the meth content of all the different flavors/brands of windshield washer fluid? That would be a cool list.

There are tons of water/meth % vs freezing point charts out there. You can easily use one to determine how much methanol a bottle of washer fluid has based on its freezing point.

Watch out with some of the purple stuff. They often aren't just water/meth. Same goes for bug/tar remover additives.

Cheapest by far to mix your own. Pick up a couple gallons of methanol and mix it with distilled water. 50/50 by volume is fine and generally a accepted as non-flammable.

I’ve never been able to find anything other than -20 washer fluid which is around 30%. Most of the higher rated blends also contain glycol or other additives you don’t want. Just google the MSDS of which ever product you are looking to buy. It will list the methanol percent. IF you have more money than time I’ve used the premixed 50/50 from Devilsown. They ship fast and it’s pretty reasonable price wise.

I used to run whatever was on sale, usually under $3 when filling up. As stated avoid the pricier bug remover and rain-x varieties.

No intercooler, 30+ PSI, 3 nozzle AIS (now prometh) kit worked great.

Yep thats where I get it,, I guess since I play more with 100% meth motors than blending,, It just struck me odd since you don't really know what else is in the windshield fluid.. And they don't really have to tell you the full story on it..

Luckily they are not my cars and I don't pay for the fuel..
