Was originally going to do 4l80, but this came up and I'm considering running it till it breaks if it won't be like a week lol!

Thx!
You've got a better chance for longevity in a light car under street use. Track days and hard downshifts at 50mph (the fun stuff) will be pushing the envelope. You'd be better of going proactive as you could recoup more of your cost by selling a GOOD trans and have a lower overall expense for the upgrade.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to go for a 2005 and up 6.0 and a 4 L 80 I think that'll last at least for a little while and if it does break it'll probably just screw up the clutches or something so I can have it rebuilt into a good strong trans after I'm done with the car it's got to go together rough then I'll iron out all the bugs then I'll pull it apart and get it painted and finished and have the trans rebuild and stuff like that I think that's a good plan. I'll tell you what though how hear engines are not as cheap as you guys get back east the cheapest I can possibly find it is about $1,500 delivered to my door

The 216/220 cam is extremely mild. Decent little cam. LSA is 114.
2003 will do over 1000hp.

If you go 2007 and up you will probably have to deal with VVT.

5.3, should be able to get a low mileage 04-06 gen3/4 5.3 for around $400-$600 using car-part.com to find local business. Otherwise ebay. I tried both.

Results:
A. ebay
vendor from ebay sent me engine, assured good compression. Engine arrived with bad compression, ebay steps in and I kept the engine free which needs a head gasket.

B. car-part.com led me to a local salvage yard. I called about the 5.3 listed for sale, he literally asked me what I wanted to pay for the engine, and I straight up told him "if you have low miles 02-06 engine for $400" and he immediately says yes, no problem, and even delivered it free to the front door. And they let me wander the entire yard to compression test other engines.

If only you could do that with an sr20det
