Default help for a newbie on a 2500HD build

I have done some research and purchased an 06 GMC Sierra 2500HD for a turbo build. I picked it for several reasons. First off it was DIRT CHEAP!!! Second it already has a 6L, 80e trans, and heavy rearend. Third is i dont need another car. Yes it weighs 4800lbs but it is just my toy!!! Anyways I want every detail ironed out before I purchase anything for the build! Here's what I plan...
walbro 450 in tank
8an fuel feed line
vacuum/pressure reference regulator
8an rails
80lb injectors
stock intake and tb
stock 317 heads ls9 gaskets/ARP bolts
custom ground can, I Dont like the chomp
comp 918 springs
hardened pushrods
stock manifolds facing forward 2.25 hot side Y
78/75 turbo up front off center to pass side
50mm blowoff/44mm wastegate
stock 1500 rad and stock Elec fans
duramax intercooler
trans and oil coolers under bed
duramax 4" exhaust system
elec dump up front for high boost setting

2500 double billet converter
HD2 shift kit

truck has 3.73's and 30" tires so no change coming there. Motor and trans will be freshened up during build. Has anyone else used the factory duramax intercooler??? Too restrictive? 1500 rad is a convenience for the fans. Duramax intercooler is big and super easy to install due to it being a 2500. This will not be a DD but I want smooth quiet low boost street manners. Plan on 8 psi prem pump gas street setting and 16 psi 110 race fuel all out track fun once in a blue moon....

Any tips or tricks appreciated!!!

8psi won't feel like much in that big as truck. We did a 7875 on my buddies 2500hd and it was decent at 8 psi but really wasn't any fun until 15-17 psi. Also the 6.0 spun a bearing so we swapped in 4.8 crank and rods in the 6.0 block and now it really loves the boost.

Also, I plan on running 3" cold side piping due to the tb, maf, and intercooler being 3" or bigger. Shouldn't matter right? Wondering what to do with these oil cooler lines as well. Do they make a an or pipe thread style fitting to bolt to the engine? Well that's good to hear. What power was it putting down at low and higher boost? Running just pump gas and intercooled? Did y'all use factory manifolds? What cam did yall run? How was the turbo, was it laggy at all or was it hit it and its on? Thanks for any info, and the reply!

One factory manifold and then a log on the passenger side. Cam is a mild boost cam, don't remember the exact specs. It's intercooled on e85. No lag it's pretty much a light switch, we don't dyno our cars we just street tune them.

I've seen those log manifold on one side type setups, pretty nice. I just figure with the ton of room i have i might as well just point them forward, might be a bad decision, time will tell.... I like to hear of the light switch, haha. Ain't nothing wrong with a street tune.....I'm not tuning it and everyone around me is on the dyno tuning with street touch ups. Thanks for the info

I'd do a log setup if I were you. There is a lot more room to work with on the passenger side of the motor than anywhere else on these trucks. It's really easy to make, I'll post some pics here in a little bit.

Truck has a full 4" exhaust made for a duramax, was pretty much a direct fit.

Same target area I had in mind. I was thinking that with the stock manifold the log and crossover wouldn't be there and would leave more room for the down pipe. Planning on a 4" downpipe straight off the turbo. Looks good though. His truck looks better than mine too, lol. Yes the duramax exhaust was in my plan, great news to hear it does indeed slide right on the gasser

Also, I just completed my e fan swap last night and I found fans that fit the radiator beautifully, if you're interested.

i will most likely be using the factory fans and radiator from a 1500 as it is narrower and gives room for the 3" cold side plumbing to and from the intercooler without cutting the rad support. But thanks for keeping me in mind
