Lmf 2008 5.3l

I looked at yet another motor, just curious if anyone has any experience with the LMF motors ? I know there a Gen 4 do they have any desirables geared towards a turbo build ?

This is the info I have on it currently. Wikipedia and summit both say its produced from 2010-2014 motor. The one I looked at is in a 08 GMC savanna so i'm a bit confused on that. I did however call into Preston Gm/Chevy and they confirmed the vin to an LMF 5.3 motor.

if it had the 4l60 behind it and is a 2008 it's very likely a LY2

in that case they'd be 862 probably

LY2 has 243 heads, and is an absolute beast for a turbo build.

LY2 is a 4.8L isnt it ?

im confused because the dealer verified through vin its a LMF the years just dont match up

I'm not sure how much I would trust that Summit page.
It says its a 2010-2014 engine (gen 4), with free floating wrist pins and 143 casting rods.

143 casting rods are gen 3 pressed pin rods.

ok well maybe summit is wrong, but what about the dealer running the vin ? I went to look at it and it had a 5.3 sticker under the hood on the fan housing or something I glanced quickly dont remember what it was stuck to.

and thanks for your replies Joe i appreciate the help i'll be pulling this from the van on Saturday then i will get my own thread up perhaps. I am 100% new and know nothing so well see what a lot of reading, ambition and ls1tech help will get me
