Default Boost reference?

I’m getting 12-13 pounds of boost with a 6 pound spring in each wastegates. It’s a 6.0 with twin 61mm turbos and a wastegates on each turbo forward header. I have the boost reference lines for each turbo going to a tee than one line to the charge pipe close to the throttle body and BOV is that correct or should have each line individually come off the charge pipe to the wastegates?

Detail exactly how you have your gates plumbed and parts used.

And you can plumb them many ways to achieve different goals, so there are many "correct" options.

They are 44mm ON3 gates plumed 90 degrees off the headers(I know that isn’t optimal) and each gate has a 6 psi spring in it. The car has twin 61mm turbos through an air to air intercooler and the reference line is after the intercooler. The car goes to 10-11 psi almost instantly under a load and than creeps up another psi or two

Gate location doesnt look too bad.

It's difficult to tell from the photo exactly where your lines to the gates come from. But they look a sensible type and size.
You say the reference line is near the intercooler, but both lines disappear towards the intake manifold cover ? There is nothing taken from the intercooler in that photo ?

Also, Is whatever gauge you are using to take the pressure readings proven as accurate ?

And at least the photo gives some of the answers I wanted as to how they are plumbed. Have you tested the gates to see if they do actually start to operate around 6psi, which are the springs you believe are in it ?

That pick was from before I removed the boost controller. Each waste gate goes to a tee now and than into the charge pipe. Is there a certain size the reference line should be?

This really would be easier if you just answered the specific questions that were asked.

No there isnt a specific size, but certainly not too small, and too large would be pointless.

When it was on the dyno he was reading the pressure off the map sensor I believe because he had to do math to figure out exactly what it was at.

The boost reference line comes from between the intercooler and throttle body in the charge pipe near the blow off valve. It’s a single reference point that goes into a tee to both waste gates. I pulled the springs out of the east gates and they are definitely softer than the 11psi springs I got. The waste gates move freely. I have the bossy reference line routes to the lower side of the waste gate and the top goes to the atmosphere

And again, you need to test/ensure whatever you are using to measure boost pressure, is known to be accurate.

You need to test the gates to see if they are actually operating around 6psi you believe the springs to be.

To do that would i add air and pressurize the bottom side of the gate where the boost reference line goes in?

I tapped the compressor cold side housing with a 1/8 npt and threaded a fitting in that let's me hook a vacuum line to it. It goes to a manual boost controller then to the wg. With the controller turned off on a 7 pound spring I make about 6 pounds. Seems to work fine and all the diagrams I looked at suggested this routing as best.

That is the simplest method to use and absolutely the easiest to try first. And more often than not, it will be all you ever need unless you really need to run a pressure far removed from base spring.
