The reason the truck manifold is so rad is because for starters they are everywhere!!! They are dirt cheap and if you are buying anything else you can usually get them thrown in for free. Secondly unlike the ls1 and ls6 manifolds they were put into trucks (duh) that have a lot more room in them. So they don't suffer from size restrictions and are allowed to be physically larger. Think about all of those bad *** intake manifolds dudes want for their 4th gen that won't fit under the hood or cowl, same scenario. Now for the fine details. Well there aren't any conclusive proof. Everyone agrees that they outflow the LS1 intake manifold. They say they are comparable to the LS6 manifold but the LS6 makes more power up top. When it comes to dyno results however Chevy High Performance Magazine did a shoot out on a stockish LS1. Where the truck manifold beat the LS1, LS6, and even a fast in terms of max hp. Now those are results that hold merit.
So if you have a truck manifold and it will fit I'd run it. Especially since you are going turbo the benefits will not be noticeable with the ls6. Besides the ls6 doesn't look so goofy. Save that 300 and invest it in something else that can actually change the power output.

Thank you for the reply Silvea that's a good write up and makes a lot of sense I also saw the manifold shootout article I skimmed though it probably a bit to fast. Truck manifold it is now where to put that extra 300 ?
I don't know what your goals are or your plans as of yet. Places people seem to skimp is cam don't be a lamer and run a ls6 or ls9 cam shaft. Lget a turbo cam from a reputable vendor. If you planned on that think about investing in boost control eboost or a non China wastegate. If you planned on doing both of those then look into adding to your fuel system. If you plan on doing all of those already post up what you plan to do and we can point you in a good direction. Might be better off spending that 300 on a high quality torque converter even.

Thanks for the write up. That totally makes sense. I did read that shootout article but I skimmed it a little to quickly I guess. Now where to put the extra 300
