Did you upgrade to trunion bushings? My motor did this due to the bushing breaking in. No worries if so.

After a lot of street driving, I felt the manually shifted FMVB 4L80E was cumbersome and it was less enjoyable just driving around on my last car. RMVB may be better, but I think with a manually shifted setup I'd want fewer gears if possible. You could always go with a TH400 and swap to a 3.27 or 3.08 rear gear. A TH400 with a steeper 1st gear that the PG with same gearing may 60' better and won't turn as much RPM on the highway with less gear.

That's the main reason I am swaying towards a glide instead of the brake in the 80E. I only want to worry about one shift instead of 2 or 3. Although, I could setup an electric solenoid to shift for me at the track.

That's how mine is hooked up. Shiftnoid does the work for me perfectly every time.

I got a fully built 80e with brake manual shiftING. The only problem I have is. When I active the brake to reverse. Some times it blows the fuse. When the brake kicks back.

Are you talking about flyback voltage blowing the fuse?

I might not have this correct but if it's based off the 1.82 deal it might not be a direct "cheap" swap to 1.80/1.76/1.69 gear set. You would need to change every thing out I think...
Also if you can use the gear without issue, keep the 80. If you could ramp power up faster and leave harder the glide might work but you are heavy for that specific gear drop IMO.

Thanks for the heads up. Definitely something I will look into.

I could definitely leave on a lot more power if I had a transbrake. Right now off the footbrake it's pretty soft but can still squeak it into the high 1.3X's.

I plan to try and find some more weight this winter and get it on a good set of scales too. I will be dropping the 80E off at the builder today and will know what happened with it next week.
