Im dragging this back up because I am about to do this on my 72 Nova. What have been your results? Did the stock pump work? I am using a traditional small block twin turboed and am out of room under the hood that is why I want to make the move.

Haven’t made any passes in the car or anything, god side tracked on other projects. It seemed like it will work well, would be better yet with an electric pump

I just started a conversation with Stewart components about stock pump vs their best electric pump in this situation...His response

"The electric pump can produce 55 gpm up to 4 psi your mechanical water pump can produce 150gpm at 6,000 rpm and 40 psi.

Electric water pumps cannot produce the flow and pressure that a mechanical wp can produce, that is why we use the electric wp as a booster pump at low rpm. The mechanical wp at the 1,000 rpm is only producing 10-15 gpm.

Everything depend on rpm.

Thanks"
