turbo rebuilders Is there a re-builder in Texas that anyone recommends? I had rebuilt my S482 after it failed and leaked a ton of oil. Went with the newer thrust bearing design. Pulled it today with all my oil lines to flush and clean all of the bearing debris from the engine failure and found the turbo is still leaking pretty bad. And it only made 2 passes since the rebuild. Everything inside it looks like new so nothing is really obvious. I think I will let a real shop do it so they can measure everything to be safe.

I spoke to 3rd coast in Houston today and they told me to put it back together and try it with the new engine. Due to the insane blow by the engine had they said it most likely caused it not to drain, even with the scavenge pump and allowed it to fill with oil. Made a lot of sense.

i dont tjink your motor had 30+ psi of blow by and stop the oil from draining.

The scavenge pump doesnt push at 30psi. It did the same thing when I first built it and forgot to turn the pump on a couple of times. Filled the exhaust housing to the point of spitting oil from the downpipe. It had enough blow by to completely fill up the catch can and blow oil all over the firewall from the can in 1 6 second pass. So yea, it was bad.

Agreed Stevie. No sense in spending 400 bucks to rebuild it if its fine. A little oil in the pipe isn't going to hurt anything if it is leaking because Ill check it after a run or 2. Shaft play really feels good to me. As good as it was when I bought it and it wasn't leaking then. And everything in it looks fine.
