Default turbo cam pro,s step in.

thanks in advance

guys I have been running a n/a cam in my turbo nova for 5 years now and I'm just wondering how much I'm leaving on the table as far as average power. my little cam has gotten me to a best of 9.85 at 141 mph and I have ran as high as 18 psi boost but it seems to flatten out after 6ooo rpm. I,ll post up my current cam as well as a new one I already own and see what you guys think. thanks.

my current cam is a comp efi truck.

54-450-11
206 intake @.050 513 lift
212 exaust @ .050 520 lift
115 lsa

I run it with comp 1.85 rockers

new cam still in box is

Bennett racing

ls1 3713r 3718r 114+2

intake 220@ .050 564 lift
exaust 230@ .050 572 lift

114 lsa

engine is a sbe 2005 lq4 , 317's with pac dual springs , borg 80/83 with 1.25 t4 housing, ptc converter.

what I want to know is the cam change worth the effort .

Would be useful to know the intended rev range. If you're shifting close to 7k, I'd swap that cam and bet there's a good bit of power to be had. The first cam has a ton of negative overlap. You'll probably drop a few psi of boost.

if there is nothing to be gained under 6k I wont do a cam swap.it has enuff power to go mid 9s if I get the hole shot better.

its been 114 in the 1/8th and 141.89 in the 1/4 but the 1.60 ish 60' is killing the et. slippery track is the issue . but I'm working on that.

What stall is in it? I think as soon as you're at full boost there is power to be had, but was pointing out the 2nd cam will carry the power further.

Nothing ventured....nothing gained! Put that cam in and hammer down!

I would say go for it. Cam swaps are easy on these motors. I just did one in my nova. Took me 3 hours. No biggie really. Worst part is the coolant, lol

All depends on goals. If just looking for increased "average power" from 0 to 6K rpm, I'd recommend talking with some sponsors to see what they say based on current eng and turbo config.

Did Bennett spec the new stick based on current combo?

your turbo is what is choking the combo. The 83mm Borg turbine has a 74mm exducer. This is way too small for a single 6.0L application.
You could run 2 of those turbos ... lol
Or at least get 1 with a 96mm turbine, then you could cam the engine for more rpm

Turbo(s) gonna influence cam specs. Make sure cam provider understands your goals and engine/turbo config.
