Default Turbo ls1 cam choice???

I have a 98 ls1 engine that is pretty much stock. It has a 7875 turbo setup being built right now. I would like to know what cam you guys recomend? Its not a daily driver but i drive it to work every once in a while. Oh and i am using the stock converter for now till i can buy a new one. Trans is a built 4l60e.Goal is 600whp on pump gas (91). So what cam do you guys recomend with stock converter

Converter here as well.

But if you must... Sloppy stage 2 Cam
Currently Jegs is the stage 2 recommendation but it's the same as the Elgin E1840P which is about $40 cheaper at $241

You'll want springs with that, either PAC 1218 or PSI 1511's. PAC's can be had for $136

You probably won't need it since above Cam is under a .600 lift but a trunnion upgrade would be a nice. I went with captured needle bearing kit for $92.

Here is a pro tip:
Order it all today, should get it in time for Christmas. Wrap it up and stuff it way at the back of the tree and label it to your self from your wife. When you dig it out and open it make sure you are as excited as can be and make sure to thank her for making it the best Christmas ever.

Not to get off track, but has anyone ever done a back to back test on the sloppy cam vs the Little John stage 2-I know the LJ is spec. for turbo.
In other words gains vs $$$

Converter is pretty much mandatory. My vote is Tu1, makes good power and has a smooth idle.

I guess I have to be that guy. Anytime you FI a large v8, the 4l60 WILL die. Sometimes a 4l80 isn't even enough. Even running a large stall with stock power can toast a 4l60. Forget the cam until you bulletproof your driveline.

I'd go TU1 over the 'sloppy S2 cam' (which is just a cheap Elgin cam rebranded as both JEGS and Trick Flow), any day. The 228/230 112 LSA on the Elgin cam is pretty bad for a single turbo setup with a small turbine.

I under stand that be best but it’s a Corvette. The 4l80 conversion is ridiculously expensive. I seen many corvettes last with the same rpm stage 5 trans I have.

Thanks everyone. Looks like I’ll just save for a torque converter first then.

At the very least add whatever size transcooler you can fit. Higher stalls add more heat. As long as we are talking about a (relatively) lightweight corvette, your transmission may last a little while.
