Default Dual fuel pump plumbing

Trying to tie down my fuel system while some sales are going on. I want to run dual pumps, more so a back up system, but also kick in the sec. pump with boost. I had used the Holley 12-1400 in my Buick, but unless you get the 12-1800 they say not for E85. I plan on some E85 usage, mostly 93 pump though. I picked up an AEM 380 (87 gallon), and was going to use another, or a cheaper one as sec. By the time I figured up all the fittings, etc, I am close to a Holley 1800, and a lot less fittings to leak. Be curious to see pics of how you plumbed your dual pumps, I figure 2 y blocks, one filter, a lot of fittings. Something like tank to filter, y block to pumps, y block to single line to filter, then to fuel rails. I am using a sumped tank, pumps would sit level with bottom of tank.
Thanks

I have a 2012 camaro so I run the stock zl1 pump in the tank and a magnafuel 4303. I was in the same boat as you but I found a filter head Napa sales that has two inlets and two outlets. So I run a caterpillar filter 1r0750 I believe on the filter head. The zl1 pump to one inlet and the 4303 that I run off a bottom sump I made out of the top of an old eBay wastegate to the other. Each outlet to a fuel rail and use the filter to be the merge for the pumps. If you only want to use one outlet plug the other. The filter is rather large but it works really well. I run a check valve at the outlet of the 4303. Plenty of fuel for e85 and it was cheaper then even eBay fittings. I bought the filter head for 30 bucks and the filter is like 18 with my discount at work.

I did mine very much the same except my big *** filter is before the pumps.
So two feeds from the fuel cell. Then one outlet to each pump.
i used a check valve on the secondary pump. Not sure it was needed with the Holley pump, but what the heck.
Then a Y of course to the main fuel line.

Independent -10 lines from the cell to prefilters and then the 044 pumps. Check valve on the 2nd pump used under boost. -8 lines from each pump to a Y block, then -8 to a post filter and on to the rail.

Mine takes 3 filters but I Like to be safe.

I recently looked at the cost on all this and came up with the holley as the simplest solution. You can probably get 80 bucks out of the used AEM pump too....

I used 12s to each pump from the cell. Put a check valve after the secondary pump then put a y in to join the lines.

-10 out of sump to filters, filter to pumps then -8 y to -8 to rail -6 return.
pumps have check valves and 1 is boost activated

Some nice setups-I ordered a bunch of fittings, etc, once they get here I will lay them out in the order I hope they work out, lol-my plan now is to run the AEM 380 since I have it, use a Quantum as the second, backup. I don't want any fuel line bet the filter and pump, so the filter will screw into a Y block. I went to the hardware store and got a shut off valve with 3/4" npt, that gives a big opening, and using 3/4" to #12 fittings. Using a shut off valve allows maint. on the filter, pump, etc without draining the tank. (been there before)
I may end up with more junk I don't use, but I have a pile of it I just add to, lol.

A little late to the party, but here ya go, dual -6 out of sump to single -8 all the way up to the regulator mounted on the stock fuel rail.

Interesting-I kind of always shied away from the push loc fittings, but prob eliminates some of the leakage from the fittings. I plan on one Holley filter feeding 2 pumps, then I'll Y back to a #8 to the front. Looking more like i'll have a pile of unused fittings, lol

Push fit does work fine, but I prefer a compression type fitting as per teflon etc. And stainless overbraid looks **** in general, just get a covered version.

At least the compression types are re-usable....once the push fit is on, it's on forever til you cut it off. That is an annoyance if you change stuff.

Plus teflon hose is suitable for any fuel you'd ever use, most push fit wont be

I just did two filters because my sump already had two outlets, and seemed like less fittings to deal with.
On a side note, they don't come apart. You cut the hose off. So, give yourself some nice sweeping bends in your runs of the line to pull some slack in, just in case.......

I was trying to cut some cost (remember that one, lol) by using one big filter-my sump (stock tank) has 2 outlets, I was planning on just using one, the other would get a drain. After having to drain the tank in my other car just to fix a leak, a cut off valve was needed. Your mind gets stuck on one idea, when you see other ideas, sometimes it turns the brain back on, lol.
Thanks guys

Well, so much failure on my ideas, the pile of bought and cant use keeps growing (maybe used in the future)
Anyway, I gambled on the Y dist. block being at 45 deg angles (should have meas. better) but it wasn't-so scraping the "hardline" idea and just going with push loc Y to pumps. They will allow for the pumps to be parallel to each other. I have now spent more than if I had just bought the Holley 12-1800 pump, less fittings, less leaks, etc., lol.
