Default How Do Ya Package Up Your Block To Send As Core?

I know some guys just pay the core charge and use the crate that the new motor comes in, but there's gotta be some ( like me ) that can't afford to do that. So how do you build a crate/box/whatever? What are the dimensions??

i bought a block from someone on ls1.com....and it was just in a regular box with bunch of popcorn and styrofoam(sp) on the bottom...it was fine.

1 of 3 ways.. 1st is to build a crate which will run about 20 dollars in supplies, 2nd is buy a hard plastic lock box from lowes or some other home impovement store that will run about 60 dollars, or 3rd which is what i do is go to Walmart and buy a rubbermaid container for 10 bucks.. Cheapest way to ship is Via FowardAir or FedEx ground

Thanks a lot guys! Just finished disassembling the motor this morning . . . I was expecting to see some major damage on #1 piston, but I only cracked the top ringland. Everything else in the motor looks perfect!
