Default YSI vs YSI-B

Doing some thinking/planning on another build. About to pull the trigger and order the head unit. Can’t find any really results showing the YSI-B is worth the billet wheel price tag. Does anyone have any experience with these. Thanks

Dont think it’s worth 150.

Ask Lance at Vortech. He can answer that question.

I took that from an article about Brian Mitchell. He said his boost went from 21 to 25lbs and added approx 150hp to his combo. Probably best case scenario for sure.

Yea that’s what I’m worried about. I have yet to find anyone show results that were worth the upgrade. I see plenty of people send in for upgrades. But then never post results.

I’ve contacted Vortech and of course they say it’s worth the upgrade. But when I ask for results they just say “oh we see 125-150 hp gains”. Can’t really tell me where in the graph. I don’t plan to spin the engine to 7k+.

Friend of mine did the upgrade on his grandsport and he didn’t like the way it performed. We did a couple runs when I still had the D1SC and I would get him by a car easily. It made good power up top on the dyno though on Q16.

I would say save your money until you've seen real evidence of gains.

Almost every comment online, just seems to say a little more boost...but few seem to be shouting about how much faster they went

But if you need more than a YSi....I would perhaps consider what ECS are talking about here if they come to fruition.

I never had a regular YSI but I’ve been 167mph boost only with a Ysi-b in a full weight 09 vette and 176 with nitrous. That was on a 3.0 upper and 17 psi, just switched to a 2.70” but haven’t got to run it yet.

Does Vortech make a bolt-on SC'er kit for 98-02 FBodys...?

Can they make 1,000 RWHP........like the Procharger F-1A-94 can....

No they don't. RMCR still supports them but I don't know if I'd go that route. I PM'd with a member on here who's got a killer setup and he says he regrets it. I was very interested in Vortech setup with a top mounted air to water. But I don't want to be beholden to one shop who makes parts. If I could deal directly with Vortech maybe. There is also fighting belt slip which I heard was an issue on the f-body kits.
