Lol ya even here in Texas it gets pretty cold at least for me and the dog ha

So I had a bad case of stupidity, truck was low on fuel and I only had e85 at the house so I put two gallons on top of a 1/4 tank of pump fuel. Long story short, it went 13.0 afr and i let off of it but not in time and popped number 5 piston. The engine had quite a bit of blow by even before but still upsetting cause it was such a budget simple setup and worked nicely. Figured out that a two post lift can be used for pulling engines.. if you pull the front tires off ha. I went to the wrecking yard and 200k 5.3s were $500. Pump gas setup I wes wanted a lil more cubes. I gotta 2010 aluminum shortblock 6.0 from a g8 I was saving. Gonna assemble it for this one now.

Kind of surprised the 2 gallons made that much diff, but I added 5 gals. to prob 3/4 tank of 93, it jumped to 24% eth.
I had my Holley HP setup for flex fuel, so no worries there, it just adds more fuel. I had a little E85 left, thought about adding it to my mower, prob a good idea I didn't, lol

I was surprised as well. It has really small fuel tanks so I guess there was less fuel in em than I thought. Lol ya the mower prolly wouldn't like it one bit.

Disassembled the ls1 and found the #5 piston gone. Decided to use the 6.0 from a g8 I had in the shop. I removed the crank and swapped the reluctor wheel to a 24x and assembled it with the same cam and some 317 heads. Hoping to get it installed and back to doing burnouts shorlty. And some track time as well

Drove the ol truck over 400 miles today to race it in Amarillo. Track was slick as it was cool at first so I couldn't hook my et streets, ran 12.5,12.2 and 12.0@112. It warmed up and I finally got it to hook and ran an 11.4@114 leaving on 3 psi and 9 psi through the run. This was on pump 93 octane, I'm stoked with the results!

Thanks guys, I really enjoyed the track outing. This truck used to be a diesel so im not sure if the frame is beefier, cause it weighed 4000 lbs with an aluminum block 6.2/60e combo. So I bet it gained 100-150 lbs with the 80e and turbo setup, I weigh150lbs so I believe it'll weight close to 4300. But I'll put it on a scale to confirm

i guess swapping to a CV front end was worth more weight than I thought! odd though coz my '66 lwb weighs 4080 dry and those trucks are notoriously heavier than the squarebodies
