Default new p.b. full street trim 10.96

rain was impending so i didn't bother to prep the car in any way today.
i didnt even check the tire pressure.. even though the left front was obviously low
this is the way i drive it to and from work every day.
wheels are 18*9.5 all around, rear tires are bfg 295 drag radials
93 octane 1/4 tank. had my amp and sub box in back along with all my car cleaning crap
ambient water in the intercooler.. and it was a muggy 83*
swaybar in front, muffler, all that junk (car just got inspected tues btw.. passed with flying colors )
i drove 40 miles each way through rain all the way to the track and all the way back
right off the road and into the staging lanes
car nearly cut off (1.98) bog 10.96 at 134.8
hot lapped the car and went a 11.0 at 135.3 on a 2.01.
peak boost was 14.7

so now i have a legit 10 second daily driver. yay.
looks like this http://community.webshots.com/photo/...79670192iFGFYx
i waited about an hour for the car to cool off to make some more passes and then it started raining again. figure if i could keep the tires spinning out of the hole my mph would come back to teh 138 it has run before at that boost level.

i know a couple guys (nineball?) have clipped a 10 on street tires.. if there is a number somebody could pull then i could have a goal

awesome man, I say run your car at the track the same way as you run it on the street, except put on sticky tires to hook.

I need a strong rear and a built tranny before I venture to the strip.

David that is sweet!!! A true 10 sec street car......VERY impressive. This has to be the most you have ever driven the car without major probs....gotta feel good to have a car/setup under you that you feel solid about. I am sure you have posted it but what is your race weight? If street racing was legal, I could see you making some nice cash on the side. Since it is not legal, I can see you making some SERIOUS cash with a 10 sec street car. Any chance you could do a vid of you just raising hell in the car. I don't mean at the track but parking lot...back road or something?

evil, yes i always run the methanol over 11psi boost pump gas just to be safe

gotmesom, putting on hoosiers/skinnies is all i really changed in the first place lol.. though before on occasion i would take out my speakers and crap outa the car.

jerry i wanted to weigh the car but it was occupied by a mustang and i was planning on getting it next time around.. which didnt happen

you are right.. the car is running excellently i couldn't be happier.. this is what happens when you FINALLY get all the right parts and people together in harmony. normally i cant stop fooling with the thing.. but lately i have been reduced to thinking about getting window tint lol! i wouldnt be surprised if i start winding it up near seasons end and put the stock crank in jeopardy.. but that's what winter is for.

i was 'called out' to the local spot last night actually.. when i arrived the guy backed down.. one of those ' i got a buddy of a friend that can take you' kinda deals... i told him i didnt want his money anyways and to save it towards making his car faster so it would be a better race.

guy in my club does great videos as does bushman for me. we have been talking a lot about it however i think i'm being a little puss about some of the action as the car only hooks 4th and higher on the street and well i like this frame straight (you've been there)

lol...straight frame....yeah I hear ya. Can't wait to get my sfc on this week. I hate how the vert feels compared to a t-top/hardtop car. Window tint? **** I KNOW stuff must be going good for ya.

Nice.

So do I need to run a 17 or 18" drag radial to be in "street trim?" When I get back I will drive my car car to work at least once.

Congrats on the run

That is flying for a 6-speed car on DR's. How are those BFG's in the rain BTW?

the car is a little over an inch low and as long as i have my 18's on front i have no bottoming problems, however the car does sit lower with the skinnies on it and you can catch some stuff if you are not carefull.. nothing worse than your standard longtube header situation.

the bfg's SUCK in the rain.. and its rained allmost every day here.. ive gotten used to not going over 40. however there is no comparison.. they have superior dry traction to any other 'street' tire i have driven on.. and they corner great as well.
