Default 416 thoughts.

got a chance to pick up a 416 shortblock ls3 block with all forged internals . thinking about throwing in a 220r cam I have and a set of 317s and see how she runs. I don't think my 83 mm turbine will get it done but that I can change.only real reason is the 100 lbs off the nose.

if you can get a great deal on it why not I'd go with a custom cam over a 220r and a 96mm upgrade

still on the fence here . to make a 416 work I need to change just about everything to get a decent matched setup.not sure it is worth it. not to mention there is more in the car the way it sets.

I feel the EXACT same way with mine. An engine change typically means a lot of other things need to change as well.

if I can get my car to et like it mph's id be good. I feel my 113-114 mph 1/8 mile should go in the 6.0 5.9 range and 141+ mph should be mid to low 9's .

Maybe throw it on a trailer and take it to a good track. I know you say Lapeer is lacking when it comes to surface prep. I think your goals are attainable for sure.

yes I can get more at a better track. but it is built to run at my local track. I really am very happy with the car. there are a few 9 sec small tire cars but none that are true street car's let alone slapper bar cars.

it is hard to touch anything when all it needs is an oil change in the spring and it will go 9's. and I can drive it to work.

I'd find another use for the 416. You seem to have the current configuration sorted out so why not just enjoy it and find another project for the 416.
