Default Which meth kit to get?

What meth kit is everyone using? I have a LQ4 that I'm running 10lbs right now and I want to turn it up, to say 15-20lbs(depending on what the tuner says to go to) I'm not sure which kit to get, I'm running a stock ECU if that helps

Im curious also. Im thinking about the Snow 201 kit, its less than $300 and i have heard good things. But the AEM kit is nice also. Theres also different features, the control ranges from a hobbs switch to an all out programmable control module.

In for opinions!

I got the 280 dollar snow budget kit.... works just fine. Install was a breeze. On my Nova, I made a bracket and mounted it on top of the driverside framerail and put the tank above it. You will have to spend an extra 30.00 for the 675 nozzle.

So the nozzles the kit comes with are not enough i assume, how do you gauge what size you need?

depending on the pump pressure (40/100500psi for example) it goes by the flow rate gph. if you go on McMaster-carr.com or google any other site and look for nozzles it'll tell you how much a nozzle flows at xx pressure.

Making your own is always better IMO. You can get nozzles for about $5. They are usually rated in GPH at 100psi. Tanks can be sourced better/cheaper than most places sell them for. $36 gets you a 2.5 gallon nice poly tank with 4” lid and sump.

A pressure switch non progressive simple kit is all most need. But if you want progressive control you can grab just the progressive controller from Devils own.

A standard 8000 series shurflo pump is about $60 and will put out roughly 150psi with the regulator bypassed. You can get pumps as little as $15 on Ebay that will work for low volume kits as well. Or grab the devils own pump that will do 300psi.

You ever figure out a cheap work around for a check valve?

There’s a bunch of “push to connect” check valves and fittings out there that won’t break the bank. Found some that look exactly like the SS ones devils own sells for about $6. I ordered a couple and they are basically the same thing BUT they have a much lighter spring in them. I haven’t found an exact copy with a heavy spring like most kits use. But springs are cheap. (FYI mine rusted bad, get a stainless spring)

Technically you shouldn’t need a check valve. There is a check valve in the pump itself. If you install your nozzle pre TB, there *usually* isn’t enough vacuum to pull fluid past the check valve in the pump.

Devils own 300psi recirculating pump is $141.

You can get cheap china 160 psi 12v pump four about $30 that will work ok fine for the typical smaller volumes.

Forcefed, you or someone else with the knowledge should make a thread about this. I looked through the stickies and see nothing related to meth injection. Maybe we can get 1 devoted to meth or add something to 1 of the existing ones.

It seems easy at first, just spray this stuff in your motor and turn it up. But more on the diy side theres so many little pieces where one could screw it up. I know everyone is busy with their own lives, but i feel something like this could greatly benefit the community. And me!

Sorry im just thinking out loud, through text, on the internet. Lol

There are so many different applications it would be like trying to make a single one size fits all thread about a fuel system.

Most of the non-progressive “cheap” starter kits are so simple I wouldn’t suggest buying them. It’s a pump, reservoir, pressure switch, nozzle(s) and hose. Use the Devils Own calculator on their home page to get your nozzle sizes and go to town. Little water/meth cools the CC pretty well. I’d suggest at least this level of kit on every turbo car out there. The cost VS performance is pretty huge.

But you get what you put into it.

If you want big results you have to spray big volumes. Then something like an Alky Control kit makes sense. Spraying 100% meth is how you get the big gains, but that also requires additional safety precautions which aren’t usually cheap. Even distribution also becomes an issue at big volumes. Some sort of fuel safety measures in case a kit fails etc…

i'd like to see a thread like that but expanded to tuning for meth. right now using the devil's own calc my afr drops a half point when my set up turns on. it's a simple on/off set up but that seems like a lot for a 70/30 water/meth
