Hope this ends my belt and pulley problems Last year I got towed home from two car cruises because the waterpump pulley worked it's way off the waterpump shaft. Actually, the second time it happened was with a pump that uses a bolt on pulley. The pulley I got broke and left me parked at the Dream Cruise. I had to wait until the cruise was over to get a tow. I took that pump off and got another stock C5 pump and welded the pulley to the shaft. Soooooo I thought my problems was fixed until I went to Milan Dragway and noticed after the first pass the belt walked over one rib and tore the edge of the belt off SMH. Not wanting to get stranded 70 miles from home I didn't make another run. I slipped the belt back on and hit the Freeway only to get a flat in my 345x35x18 DR MT off US 23 and I94. That last tid-bit was to give y'all an idea of how my day went. FINALLY I got home after another tow and noticed that the idler pulley - the one near the crank pulley and power steering pump - was leaning at a downward angle which was the cause of my last belt jumping problem.
The tensioner I have is from A&A Corvettes (I use their complete bracket system) and it's a big strong ***** and the stock pieces just couldn't handle it. Not wanting to change that out I purchased this from them:

Running A&A secondary drive for 2 years now. Havent touched the belt once. Stock water pump with pulley welded, and make sure the pulleys are all properly lined up. (check with laser alignment tool). If everything is in proper alignment, you shouldn't have any issues.
