Default Brace s366's?

Are s366's heavy enough to where they need bracing? I am running vbanded truck manifolds so basically just the vband clamp is holding it together. My motor is not solid mounted but I could make it if need be. My turbos are kind of far from the motor so I didn't want to brace them to the heads. Need ideas

You have to think as well, the further you get from the V-band the "heavier" they become due to leverage. Personally, I would at least put a rod on them to help support some weight, but if the motor rocks it could cause more stress than if they weren't braced.

Can you fab up a brace to the block somewhere to eliminate the rocking motion being detrimental?

Yeh I think I'm gonna look into putting some kind of limiter on to keep the motor from moving. Might do what you said and at least put a single rod on them to help support some weight

The weight of a turbo should never be hung off any pipework without any other support unless the manifolds are very compact and made from a sturdy material.

For a remote setup like that, the turbo must be mounted properly with no strain at all on any pipework.

i used some 2" x .125" SS strap. vertically it's stiff, laterally it's compliant with heat expansion, torque rock and frame flex.

Ok I kinda just went full retard on the brace lol they actually turned out pretty nice. Now I am going to put in a motor plate and rearrange my alternator and power steering pump. The snowball continues. . .

Thanks for sharing pics for the OPs questions. I'm in a similar situation, so it helps me too.
To the op, you mentioned some sort of limiter. I'm going to give this a shot. Granted I have access to the front of the head. Just an idea.

If u solid mount the turbos to the frame u need some type of flexjoint in the piping. U wouldnt need any engine bracing or plates.
