Default eBay FMIC

Hey guys

I have a 97 TA with a 98-02 front clip. It’s wondering if I need to remove the front crash bar where the fog lights mount or not for the eBay intercooler (31x12x4). I feel there isn’t much structure integrity on it! Just not sure if the FMIC will fit between the crash bar and bumper?

I removed my front crash box on my 95 boosted TA. Just made it a whole lot easier to make and mount everything up.

Pic in link below is an FMIC kit was from EPP (now Brute Speed). I have since changed to a custom aluminum pipe system. The white bar across the top is all that is needed to hang the FMIC. With this kit you cut out part of the front bumper.

After hanging the FMIC there is plenty of room aft of the FMIC to bolt in an X shaped chrome moly brace to tie the front together. However just about every FMIC on this forum either removes the entire front steel bumper or cuts it like I did with my first kit. You can also get another salvage bumper and cut it instead if you want to keep the original intact and ever decide to go back to stock.

Or buy a front bumper support built by (looks like no longer a vendor on this site) so can't mention the name. It ties the front together with the FMIC inside the tubular support. Reasonable in price compared to hiring welder to do it for you.

The EPP FMIC Kit.

Current configuration I built myself.

Here's the way mine mounted up on my 02 T/A.

And how it looked with the bumper back on.
