Think I'm going to go this route. Going to have to re flange my downpipe, but curious to see what the car runs like with more turbine. I expect a solid top end charge with this change up.

I ask because the compressor cover is very important aside don't have anymore room before i hit the radiator. I would call, but they are closed....kinda excited about this new turbo.
how long was it in service and how many miles? What went on it?

i just put a VS 78/75 on my 5.3 today. Hoping for big improvements compared to the CX 76/65.

why not just do a Billet 78/75?

Was in service for about 2 years if I remember correctly. Probably 20k on it, want to use this opportunity to go to a bigger turbine, will probably let this 6.0 put in more work.

What do you plan to do as far as tuning? It's probably gonna need a little touch up with that much of a change in turbo.

I like the sound of that. My buddy just got his 8883 in the mail to replace his 7875. I'll let you know how they compare. As far as size goes the compressor side looks about identical but the exhaust side is massive compared to the 7875. Fitment shouldn't be an issue since it's the compressor cover that's so close to the radiator in your car.

Yea, the hotside has me a bit nervous. But I have some room to play with. Will probably order the turbo before I re flange the downpipe.... just in case it won't fit.

Definitely order the turbo first, it'll fit I just think it's gonna need a little work on the downpipe.

Finally pushed myself to get out in the garage and put some work in. Got the old unit off, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that the lack of visible oil in eitherthe turbine or downpipe has me nervous.

Smoking, but not nearly as bad as when the precision let go. Hopefully this one let go.... but just to a lesser degree. When the precision popped, it looked like the whole car was on fire. Now it's just a decent cloud, and only after the oil gets hot.

Didn't pull any plugs, but car still ran silky smooth. Didn't run like it was hurt, or like it had any fouled plugs. Something that leads me to believe the turbo is hurt is, I was just cruising when it happened. No hotrodding whatsoever that whole morning.

good catch! you don't wanna be where I'm at. There is probably a full quart of oil in my nearly full length exhaust. It's gonna smoke for months it seems like.

I really need to figure out why I'm going through turbos every 2 years.

Possible insufficient drain or need of a slight restrictor on the feed?

Already restricted. Put the new unit on today, smoke was gone... till I was about 50 miles into my trip to the track. I think this scavenge pump might be bad. It comes on, but I'm beginning to think it may be done., at least that's what I'm hoping.
