incon actuators
When my actuators have hoses run to them, I get 5psi...so I figure they are 5psi actuators. With no hoses, I get 12-13 psi. They have a threaded rod on them, can I turn them in and get 15psi? not exactly sure how to go about this. I read Harlans would spike to 18 and settle at 15 with them wired shut. Any ideas? Doesn't seem feasible to buy 15 psi actuators if the kit is only gonna do 15psi anyway maxed. I am thinking of just turning in the actuator rods to basically bottom the spring and see what happens. any thoughts? I am running the 12-13 psi on 93 with the lower c/r so I figure 15 oughta be doable with an alky kit.

Yes the shorter/tighter you make the rod the higher the boost. If you shorten the rod all the way and still don't achieve the boost you want, then you will probably have to do the mod that I sent you. I will send you a picture today.

well I tightened until it wouldn't open and it would spike to 20psi and stay somewhere over 15....I never stayed in long enuff to see. I will have to wait until Saturday to back them down some. I tried to stay in the throttle some but was worried about detonation.....it was pegging the maf (67.72) at 5000 rpms and at 75% throttle. I'll try to get it back down to 15 psi. Man the passenger side is a bitch!!! It is just hard to access and all. It's gonna be hard to try and get them even. I thought it was only gonna spike to 18 and settle to 15.....oh well...more experimentation.

You will have to get an aftermarket k-member then you will have a ton of room to adjust them.

Must be a slightly different layout than the PA k-member. The passenger side actuator is completely open. Absolutely nothing in the way.

ok...update. Here is how i set up my 5psi actuators.....per incon you turn them in until they are half pin hole from reaching the wastegate pin. Now WITHOUT the boost hoses hooked up, i see 12-13 psi. I tightened them all the way down and so 18-20 psi. Too much boost for my 93 octane. i then reinstalled them at normal length so I could run them without hoses to 12-13psi. THEN i turned each one in 5 turns. I now get a solid 15psi. I do get a VERY quick spike depending on what rpm I nail it to 18 psi but it falls immediately and stays at 15. I think i can run this on 93..we'll see. I may take it to the track this weekend and see what it will do on street tires since i dont have any dr/slicks yet. it is an 1/8 mile track so I am expecting high 7s at BEST since i have never been to the track with an auto car.

OK, just so I understand this correctly . . . with hoses you get 5psi. That's what I was getting with the boost controller turned off. So if I just put my motor in and run no hoses to the actuators, I also should get 12-13 . . . kewl!!
