Default Budget Turbo 5.3/TH400 Build

I recently purchased a 1969 c10 SWB. I’m looking to swap a 5.3 in and turbo it. I’ve already got a TH400 and a gen I small block in it now. I have a lot of knowledge on the motor side but I am lacking it on the turbo side. Where do I start? I’m just wanting a truck I can drive anywhere I want but won’t be a daily. Looking to stay on a budget so would like to keep motor as stock as possible. How much can this thing handle? What size turbo? Where should I get all the piping? What all do I actually need? Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Google “Sloppy Mechanics” and read some recipes. It’s all laid out for you.

The best thing you can do for your budget is build it once and be done but with a turbo that's nearly impossible u say today 500 hp is all u will ever want but when u get used to 500 u think ok 600/700/800 it never stops ask me how I know look at all the threads here that say ok want more power. Order a good shortblock ready to for ,3-3500 use stock intake and heads covers accessories and oil pan and a Borgwarner turbo sized with the cam. If u do a stock motor now u will either build it later or blow it from cranking up boost so if u figure two stock motors and two refreshed gasket kit's rings bearings etc it's the same price as a good motor to start with

THIS!

Make a goal, then choose parts to reach that goal. If you have no idea what you want, copy the sloppymechanics "don't bs me build"
