removed 80/83 t4 and went 80/96 t6 with devided 2.1/4 hotside, not an easy fit in a nova with inner fenders and steel hood.

yes race cover. I need a 5" to 4" reducer and then my old 4" pipes will work. I hope the devided wastegate works good. 60mm with a 2.5 pipe split with a flat plate so I have a D shaped hole in each hotpipe. still needs some little things cleaned up but im just happy it fit.

yes me to. I have seen where guys say the devided system spools a 96 as well as a single system on a 83 turbine but we will see.

Also looking forward to your results. Looks like a tight squeeze. Do you think the 5 to 4 reducer will effect spool or power? Any plans to experiment with a 5" straight down pipe?

Should be a great apples to apples comparison depending on what other changes you decide to make before spring. Interested to see the results as well.

im not sure I want to change anything yet. my friend just bought a new dynojet with the electric load break option and im wanting to see the difference in fueling with the bigger turbine . I figure if it needs more fuel to get my afr back on track that it must be making more power. I might not notice a big power increase with my little 206/212 cam.

I have been thinking of a cam change but I have good pushrods and comp 1.85 rockers on my car but cant find a cam that works with my rockers that has low enuff lift that I don't worry about piston clearance.

My car took almost 30% more fuel when I switched from small turbine to large

The first ride I thought the same thing, I thought it would correct for fuel and it wouldn’t be too big of a deal.... I had correction at 20% in gold box.... it hit fuel cut by 5k rpm..... I added 40% everywhere in boost and it was pretty fat so I took a little more out and it was pretty close..... now it loves rpm above 7k and wants more fuel up there too..... whole different car with that turbo change

In the interest of OP improvements/benefits (and not high jacking his thread), what was rpm limit before? Any idea on increase in whp or trap mph with increased rpm?

The turbo I had was a Borg s480 with 83/75 turbine.... switched to cast s480 with 96/88 turbine.... spool on the two step was exactly the same. I can made 8lb on two step with both turbos. Hotside is fully divided 2-1/4 pipe which I think makes a difference. Exact opposite of the OP, my cam is not optimal (227/235 .649/.648), and was causing back pressure issues. Cam along with small turbine was causing me lots of issues. You could see it specifically in the fuel table. Around 6400 there was a huge drop in fuel and I was having issues with my manifolds glowing..... new turbo just pulls so hard and clean I’m higher rpms I feel I could rev it past 7500 and it would be happy.... no more fuel drop and no more glowing manifolds with new turbo.... I went to the last track day and only got one run in due to some exhaust manifold issues.... my only run was a 10.60 at 136 at 12ish lb of boost.... spun at the hit and spun at the 1/8.... I’m really excited for 2019

my old setup has been in my car for 4 years I was running a 80/83 borg t4 1.25 , dual 2.5 to a single 2.5 hot pipes feeding a twin scrool turbo. that turbo has done me well.my last run was a 1.41 / [email protected]/[email protected] that's at 3510 lbs. that's 20# boost on e85 13.5 * timing. . im sure my small 206/212 cam was a pretty good match for it . the new setup is 2.25 devided hot side with a 80/96 t6 1.32 not sure my little cam will let me see the full potential of the new turbo. I am tempted to leave it alone and see what it does with the extra exaust flow. if it spools good it should run faster overall. but im sure im leaving some power on the table without a good cam.

I am excited to see the results of this change, I just went with a s480 83mm 1.10ar because I was scared the 96mm turbine was going to be laggy. The car is 80% street car 20% track so I was really worried about spool.

thanks. I don't know about 8.50s but I am having fun just getting a little faster each year. still thinking about a cam swap as well . hell I need to retune anyways. but on the other hand id like to see what it gains from the turbine alone. my baby cam is costing me power im afraid..
