Default Twin 70’s, no boost?

Mostly stock LS1, twin On3 70mm .96A/R

just up and running on a base tune.

Took for for a couple drives and got into it a little bit

I had zero boost pressure. I have been diagnosing the gauge. So far it all checks out.

Is is it possible I would not be achieving any boost at all with base tune at this point?

Seems unbelievable to me.

Thats a lot of turbo on a smallish motor. You're going to have to get into load pretty good to get them to spool up. Just easing into it won't light them up.

Too much turbo for what you want. Twin 70s will not light off until high rpm, which will then be way to much for a "stockish" ls1.

What kind of rpm are you getting it too and how much load.

I have not got into it too much 5000 RPM maybe, 2nd 3rd pull

I am afraid to beat on it too much on a base tune, I just want to debug the car before I take to the tuner so I dont waste anyone's time.

I was going down the road of looking for boost leaks, WG leaks etc.

I realize they are on the large side.

What would be the recommendations? I believe there are . 68 A/R exhaust housing available. I would hate to go down that route.

Why? If they are not working now, why wouldn't you want to try something that cam make it better?

Beacuse it would be painful and expensive and a lot of work to do so.

If that’s what it takes then I will do it.

I just want want to be absolutely certain. Before I would do so.

Gates are on wrong but that wouldn’t keep it from getting into boost. I would think it would only keep it from opening properly

So ill start out with badass looking set up. Id fix those wastegates because they wont open as easy to bleed off boost like that. Second dont freak you turbos are big but ive seen 5.3 spool twin on3 70s at around 3800ish. Ok boost problem. Are you going full throttle. If not it probably wont make much boost if any. Those exhaust housings are to big for a street set up. The .68 are a must in my opinion. Id check what the map sensor says and forget the boost gauge i personally had an autometer boost gauge not read boost brand new. If all that checks id do a charge side pressure test. last time i saw no boost like that it was a charge pipe blown off but looked like it was on. Ill bet its going to be something easy.

One of those turbos would make for a really fun street ride. Two of them make all show and no go unless you build the engine for it. A single smaller turbo on a full weight escalade with a 6.0 can do low 12 sec 1/4 times.

thanks, for the input.

What is is the concern however? According to the info I have seen, for spring pressure only I should use the lower port.

I truly appreciate the input guys.

I am am looking for recommendations for the best and least destructive/painful recovery.

Is is the best course of action the replace the exhaust housings at this point?

My size/choice was based in large part on another members phenomenon results on a twin LS1.
