Fugetta 'bout it. NO results for a while...

Converter wont hold the power. Said to stall at 6k.

No he's not..... the converter went out in his car. He's still running the 4L60E and this moring it was stalling to 5K rpms... 3500 stall i believe and it was slipping so bad by the end of the day it was stalling to 6K. The tranny was spinning slower then the motor so he wasnt even putting down all the power he could on the dyno......12 psi i believe right Jammer?

That about sums it up, but I dont know about the converter going "out". Chris said the tranny was working great and shifting strong but the converter was slipping and couldnt hold the power when the boost came on...more or less what I got from a conversation we had. It was never insuinated to me that the converter was damagd in any way as he knows I plan on driving the car home to Albany from Syracuse on saturday (Several hour ride) after it gets dropped off to me.
The power level reached on the dyno wasn't enough to move a baby carriage down a ski slope so trans and/or verter changes are in order. This was a 3500 vert.....for NA.

Jammer I was up there today while they were dynoing your car. The converter was flashing at 5000 on the first couple of pulls and it kept getting worse everytime they did another pull. But nice car BTW

What converter are you running?

I have a TCI 3500 2.5. I have yet to get the vacuum line connected to the car to make boost. Waiting for headers to come in.....figured headers were a better way to drop the PSI to the point I want, heh

Should I be worried?

Just for reference my converter was a 3800 with a 2.5... it was designed for a stock powered motor... need a converter custom made usually in high horse power situations.

Its a 3500 2.5... great for the head/cam world, but not this one. At this point I will try something on my own with a different converter(I have faith in my TCS tranny, call me nutty), then , if that fails I'll have to decide on either a Rossler 4L60 or 80... but a 400 is probably out of the question...who knows...only TIME will tell.
