F1R Air Filter - How?!
Ive got an LS2 Transplanted into my 97z28. I'm using the factory LT1 radiator, kept the stock passenger side fan, and on the drivers side I have a low-profile Spal fan mounted as high as I Can. Ive created a fan shroud (sheet aluminum) on the left half of the stock fan shroud (so flat panel same depth as the stock fan shroud would be, minus the fan!)
Im Running an F1R on an 8Rib aster bracket setup. I understand this is way more blower than needed and it'll be in a super inefficient RPM range for this kind of setup. I got the blower locally for 1500$ so...thats why im using it and not a different F1 style. All of that aside!
I cant figure out how to get a filter on this thing. The 12 o'clock position of the air inlet touches the fan shroud. I cant really remove any more fan shroud or else I'll have nothing to mount to fan to. From that point it opens up in about a 35 degree angle down towards the ground. There is about 2 inches of clearance? at most, from the 6 oclock position of the air inlet on the supercharger to the radiator.
Id rather not run with no filter - But im not sure if trying to create a box for this thing is going to restrict is so bad that I create issues?
Ill try and get some photos up to better explain my terrible wording!
