BOV ?'s
point of BOV is to release positive pressure from tubes so the pressure doesn’t smack your TB and break it, as well as having all that pressure go back towards your turbo. Kinda no point in NOT running one.
Put it as close to the compressor as possible.
Never after an intercooler.
A good re-circulation will re-capture some of the kinetic energy of compressor input and is highly recommended, it may improve response (higher initial shaft rpm)

Near all factory turbo cars use recirculation to appease the maf sensor and it just happens to also help with the shaft speed if done right.
The bypass simply routes back into the turbo inlet, right after the air filter before the compressor wheel.

I have an auto and anti-surge housing and still heard a significant amount of surge just driving around below 3psi.
I would never run a turbo I cared about without a bypass and high quality paper air filter.
