Seems like it should be more powerful with all that motor and a blower, hell some stock bottom end LS1s with nitrous put out those numbers.... Mabey it is on low boost to pass sound level or emissions tests...... Still one hell fo a car.

stock bottom end LS1s making almost 800 rwhp on nitrous don't live very long. I don't see how you could think this isn't much power.

1. its on 93 octane
2. its thru catalytic converters

figure 525-540 rwhp on motor alone, then about 250 more with a blower. I'd sure enjoy that!

Big cubes are great for boost. https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/147921-c5-dyno-408ci-twin-t66-aem-ems.html

Supercharged cars have more loss, but remember this Vette is a street car designed for road racing. How many road race cars make over 700rwhp and still be able to drive on the street?

I sure would not complain about that power. Really how many cars actually make that power, it is not like those numbers crop up everyday. That is a sweet car. I give MTI a lot of credit, they make things you do not see everyday, hats off to them.

Only if GM would make a 427 vette with only 450 rwhp it would out sell anything, lol.

Any pics with the hood open??

Very impressive. I love a complete package and this seems like it. I'm sure it comes with a hefty price tag, but damn nice work. The builder(s) should feel proud.

Wink Really crappy ATI?

I'm running a "really crappy" ATI for the last year. Nothing has broken or failed in
any way. Only service has been to change the oil in the head unit. Currently producing 455 rwhp and 403 rwtq with stock intake, heads and bottom end
(upgrades in all these areas are in the works).

EVIL,

Why are the ATI twin intercoolers crappy? Unless you're running over 15#'s they are fine. Do you know if ATI sells a front mount intercooler to replace the twins and how much they cost?

At 15 lbs of boost they are robbing at least 40 rwhp. They are small, require a ton of twisting plumbing and are located in a odd place. They were so hot on my car that you couldnt touch them.

I'm talking about sticking with the stock stroke... Hmm I think I have seen some stock stroke naturally aspirated LS1's what run in the 9's to 10's range and still be streetable...

Now take the same TLC with a forged bottom end.. Set up the heads, valvetrain and cam right and I bet you could beat the 408 at the same boost level...

Look into things like the intake valve closing point and other specs for forced induction engines.. Lets just say you don't want to hold the valve open too far past BDC.. You can push fresh charge back out the valve as the piston starts to rise again... With the shorter stroke the piston accelerates slower and hangs lower longer per rev... More time for filling more optimum filling with the same cam specs because of all that..

Oh well.. Everybody has their own theory...

I'm going either stock stroke with a forged crank or even slightly shorter...

I have some other tricks too... I've got 6hp per cuin from a 2.0 (121.5 cuin) before.. I think I'll try it on 333-355 cu/in or so...

Very nice car. Very impressive numbers if you ask me.

Which TT408 is making 1100rwhp?
