A built 408 Iron Block..With fairly crappy ARE stage II heads from 2002 and a Garrett GT42 102mm w/53 trim. The GT42 should be here in about 14hours.. The motor has the right parts 9:1 ect... built for low rpm performance 509HP@5650 & 518TQ@4500 on the engine dyno. The motor and tranny are back in the truck as of today.. Hoping to have it running in 2 weeks or sooner.
Any comments on which is the best Air to Water Intercooler and where to get it?
Thinking my 57lb (rated@43.5psi) fuel injectors may not be enough?
Starting out with the idea of using the stock truck manifolds, that may change as things move along.
What the best size exhaust and muffler? The exhaust portion of the turbo is 4.8 inches thats a big pipe to run... And what kind of muffler would you put on there...
Is 15psi on pump gas possible with decent timing?
I'm hopeful it won't have much turbo lag with my setup as the motor is all done well before 6k rpms.
Guess I'll have to chang my sig again![The Jester](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_jest.gif)

Your putting a 74mm turbo on a 408?? I assume this is the T6 flange version correct??? With that big 408, you'll reach the choke line on that turbo quickly. What power are you shooting for??

750 to the flywheel range. Most of the stuff I've done runs faster with less HP hopefully I didn't blow it this time.
If it chokes I'll just shift it sooner
Here's the map

Thinking I should step up to the GT60 ? I remain concerned that the GT42 might be to small....I should a stuck with a Supercharger
It takes 17lbs of boost to equal 80lbs of air. Hell the Radix I had moved 65lbs or air by 5,000 rpms..

The GT60.....well if you can fit that sucker in there, which is highly doubtful. Have you ever seen the GT60?? If you haven't, look at your GT42 and add about 6 inches more length to that and about 4 inches more width. Its an absolute monster. You best bet if your using the T4 flange is a PTE-88. If your using a T6 flange, then go with the GT47-88. The GT47 is bigger then the GT42 externally also, but not quite the animal the GT60 is. Here is the GT47...
